There's a lot of different things to celebrate in December, so what will you be celebrating?

Here are some of the more popular observances I know of (feel free to add more!):

December 1st: World AIDS Day
December 7th: National Pearl Harbor Rememberance Day (U.S.)
December 9th: Eid al-Adha (Islam)
December 10th: Human Rights Day
December 18th: National Regifting Day :rolleyes1
December 22nd: Yule (Germanic Pagan/Wicca), Chanukah (Jewish).
December 25th: Christmas (Christian/secular)
December 26th: Boxing Day (Canada & UK), Kwanzaa (U.S.)
December 29th: New Years Day (Islam)
December 31st: New Years Eve

In our house we celebrate the modern Yule/Christmas combo (Yule tree and lights, presents etc) as well as New Years Eve. We also like to celebrate some of the aspects of Kwanzaa (a great family holiday if you don't know about it, no matter your ethnic background).

We celebrate Christmas and New Years Day. I may have a small party on New Years Eve but the Day is more important. We have our Mummer's Parade here and I grew up in South Philadelphia the home of the Mummer's. I head down to my aunt's house where there is lots of food, I have to make the meatballs, and we wait for what we consider to be the real parade. After the "official" parade the mummer's all go down to Second Street where there clubs are and parade until late in the evening. The highlight is when the String bands come down and serenade each other. If one of them is a winner it's an even bigger celebration.

Don't forget we also have Boxing Day here in the UK :)

Pearl Harbor Day (acknowledged with dignity, but not celebrated)
DD's bday 23
Christmas eve 24
Christmas Day 25
Our anniversary 29
New Year's 1-1
My bday 1-4

Mind you we have out of town hockey games on all of those days that aren't major holidays which means we'll be celebrating b'days and anniversary on a night we're home. It is a busy time of year around our house!

My birthday, which is also Pearl Harbor Day (the date, not the year! ;) )

We will be celebrating Hanukah, Christmas, & I personally will be celebrating school vacation!!:cool1:

You left off my birthday, which was Dec 4th. :rotfl:
Have my son's birthday, Dec 19th, and my daughter's birthday, Dec 24th.
I'll celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas and NYE. :woohoo:

Birthdays for my daughters. Today (6th) the younger turns 40 and tomorrow (7th) the older turns 42.

Aside from that, there's Pearl Harbor Day, well worth remembering, and Christmas/New Years. I don't really celebrate Christmas or New Years, but they are there.

Lots of Christmas-type stuff going on, though. I'm playing a Christmas party this evening with one band, another Monday evening by myself, a Christmas Concert Thursday evening with the Villages Concert Band, another Christmas party Friday evening with yet another band. I'm playing at the Austin Carriage Museum on the 17th with The Villages Swing Band.
