What will help a sun rash?

We are at the beach and DD's eighteen year old boyfriend has developed a rash on his chest, stomach, and back. We have tried Calamine lotion, benadryl, hydrocrotisone creme and aveno oatmeal bath. He is still itching. any ideas?

White vinegar. When I was growing up, that was always the cure for soreness and itchiness caused by sunburn. Take a shower and pour white vinegar on the sunburn. You stink afterward, but it helps the pain a lot.

If you can find it, there's a cream called Mazon that works really well on my heat rashes and eczema. It's one of the only things that does for me. There are lots of remedies out there, though, and it may be a matter of finding the right one for your DD's boyfriends skin.

I have a sun allergy. Benadryl OR Benadryl gel work decently. Don't use them together, though. The gel is absorbed through the skin.

Thanks all. He made it thru the night with a combination of Benadryl, Aveno bath, and Calamine lotion. He finally went to sleep around three this morning. Today, no sun for him.

We are here on an after graduation trip to be followed by Disney World. They are as bad as me, love the beach but MUCH more ready to get to WDW.

Last time we were in WDW, I bought sport sunblock and used it on my kids. My middle child broke out in a rash that night that was caused by the chemical that makes the sunblock sweat-proof. Benedryl helped it go away. I thought I'd mention it in case that's the case with your DD's BF. Good luck!

calagel, is so unreal!!! I just had to special order some! I got it in Florida last week after bug bites! and they do not carry it in Mass anywhere I have seen! this stuff is awesome!!!
