What will airports look like tomorrow?

I have an early flight out tomorrow. The last time I flew during Thanksgiving week was before covid and it was the worst travel experience ever. What is the general forecast for air travel this week?

They are expecting more people to travel this week than prior to the pandemic. Plus the staffing issues for airlines comes into play, and of course there will be a blizzard somewhere.

On the upside, your early flight has a better chance to go without incidence because the problems seem to develop later in the day. Bon Voyage!

Our local news says to be sure to be at the airport leaving 2 hours to get thru security and to expect delays

Flying out of Baltimore tomorrow - very early flight. We generally pan to arrive 2 hours prior even with TSA pre for the entire party but tomorrow I am shooting for 2 1/2 as we aren't sure about parking lot availability and TSA lines etc.
I am one of those people who would rather wait at the gate over missing a flight ...

Update - Monday was actually fine out of BWI and Orlando wasn't crazy arriving either. Bags arrived pretty quickly and we had no issues in either airport.

I would recommend arriving at least 2.5 hours before your flight right now, travel volumes are expected to exceed pre-pandemic levels this holiday season and paired with staff shortages, it will likely be a very challenging period.. Arrive early, be patient, and expect the worst so that you are not disappointed..

Stupid Busy!

I've been reading exactly what Micca said: much worse than pre-lockdown travel.

Flew out of Orlando International this AM. Was definitely busier this AM. Took 10 minutes to clear TSA Pre-Check security instead of the usual 3 minutes and we did not have bags to check. Flight attendant announced the plane was 79% full. We flew on Southwest, plane left 5 minutes early and got to Albany, NY 10 early.

Expect airports to be jammed. Close to Christmas eve day busy.

I flew out on Monday morning and crowds were much thinner than expected. But Im sure today and Sunday will be a zoo
