Yesterday DD and I picked 4 colanders full of strawberries from our garden....I love to eat them "just like that". I think I either need to find alot of friends to give them to or start putting them in the freezer.
They sure are yummy!!!!

Martha Stewart has great strawberry recipes. Her new magazine has a great recipe for strawberry shortcake. They almost look like individual biscuits, kind of like they serve at WDW.

My family loves strawberry muffins for breakfast and strawberry milkshakes.

they kept so good.....we just cut the stem off and put them in the freezer bags......when we want some....get them out and thaw them out.....delicious as the day we picked them

how about some melted chocolate and make some dipped strawberries......either dark chocolate or white chocolate......YUMMY

You've got my mouth watering! How about making some preserves? I used to but not since the kids were little. I'd probably freeze some too.

Ooh, that sounds yummy!!

Do they get mushy when they defrost?

SEND THEM TO ME !!!!

It's been so long since I've had fresh strawberries, I've forgotten what they taste like. When we do get strawberries here, they're way past their prime and are VERY expensive.

My mom used to make my Dad a strawberry shortcake birthday cake every year. She would make the bisquits the size of layer cakes and just layer on the straberries and fresh cream. I would KILL for one of those right now.

I'll take some.:) I love strawberries.:)

When I was a little girl, my mom would always freeze a lot of strawberries for us. She'd wash them, cut the tops off, then drizzle a little bit of sugar on them and plop them in the freezer. It was kinda like chunky strawberry icee's when they were frozen. Very yummy.:)

we do not wash them .....but pull the stem off and then put them in freezer bags.....make sure the air is out of them and then pop them in the freezer......they are very good.....I do like to have strawberry shortcake

UUUUMMMMMM warm Strawberries freash from the garden........can you say HEAVEN!!!!

This is going to sound silly but I am really wishing that I had a box of Cheerios right now - now that would be a treat - cereal and fresh strawberries!!
Seems as though everyone in my house has a different "taste" for strawberry shortcake - DH only likes it with angel food cake or sponge cake - I like biscuits - DD likes pound cake - DS - does not like it.
DD also sugggested making Strawberry Tuxedos.....with chocolate ...yummmmmm!!
Uh - oh - hope my W.I.S.H. buddies don't see me tlking about chocolate.

Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!
I would freeze a bunch......then you can enjoy them in the fall!

holycow

I'm picking strawberries tomorrow with my daughters. I can't wait. I will freeze a bunch of them, make a few dozen jars of strawberry jam, strawberry shortcake and we can't forget the most important STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRIES (spelling?).

YUM YUM :smooth:

do you have a dehydrator?

Dried Strawberries are delicious!!

I puree Strawberries with a bit of Sugar then put it in a squeeze bottle you can add that to Lemonade ( REALLY yummy!!), pour over Ice Cream, or add into a recipe.

Now I really want strawberries! :)

Mine arent out yet. :(

Wow, this thread is surprising me because I hadn't thought about how that where you are in the US strongly affects when your plants bloom and bear fruit. Our strawberrys have come and gone already for this year. We harvested the last of them a least a couple weeks ago. They were producing a lot during the third week of May.
