Hamilton Tix for Chicago Spring Break huge hit with DD18. She also liked her full keyboard organ. She plays well but sold her last one several years ago and regretted it!

She is into Free People clothes and I hestitate buying her clothes but drum roll she liked everything!!!!!

Weird little things I grabbed at last minute were a hit - stuffed nintendo kirby and retro nintendo 64 kirby game were big hits.

Pottery Barn sherpa robe was good too and lush stuff....

I surprised DH with Game of Thrones traveling show tickets with backstage pass to see the props. Thrilled. Never heard of it iso he was excited.

I tracked down a vintage print from 1983 from Ethan Allen which is a matching portrait to one she had and always regretted not buying the mate 30 years ago. VERY HARD TO FIND took 2 years and I am an excellent internet searcher. Found it! She loved it!

Surprised my dad with DNA kit and membership. He wasnt my secret santa but I had to get him something and he was excited to have that.

NO FLOPS! NOTHING! I am thrilled..

NEXT????

Hit for my parents were signs from Uncommon Goods showing all the places they’ve lived and how far they are from their home in FL. My dad did complain some of the signs were pointed in the wrong direction, 1 was off by a mile or two, and we didn’t include their other fl house (2 miles away in the same neighborhood).

We (siblings and families) also got my dad a funny candy jar from Shutterfly. It said “Candy for Grandpa. Do not touch! Do not even think about it!” Obviously a gag gift (his cleaning women were stealing his candy and booze).

My mom loved the David Yurman earrings my sister picked out for our group gift.

Ds loves his Switch. Wish splatoon 2 could be played two player. Plus by the time we downloaded Mario Odyssey there wasn’t enough space for nba 2k 18 so we had to order a micro SD Card.

Dd loved her Sherpa chair from pb teen and swim parka. Also loved the seven marvel DVDs and 4 T-shirts she got.

I think everything was a hit. I need to do a few exchanges (larger sizes) but otherwise everything was terrific:)

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Wanted to add our one flop may have been a nixplay iris digital frame. Had major issues joining my parents’ WiFi Network. Basically only works next to the router (which is in the laundry room) after unplugging all of their smart plugs. What’s the point?

Hit-Dropmix game for DS15. I bought this on impulse after seeing a tip here about a good BF sale. It was a surprise that he didn't ask for so I wasn't sure. He loves music and spent a good bit of time laughing and creating mixes. His friends also love music so I think they'll enjoy it.

Miss-PJs too small, missing critical adapter for computer-temporary flop

DD17-adidas hat and tennis shoes, she's going on a school trip to CA so that's her big hit

Miss-Disney Pictopia, too easy but she still loves Disney stuff so we decided making each question individual answers might make it harder.

For older dd: Major hit was Hamilton tickets... actually made her cry (which she never does!), And another major hit was 2 webkinz she got (even though she's 17, she still loves them).

Younger dad's major hit was her Macbook. Left her speechless.. which is amazing since she's always a chatterbox, lol. But also, she tells me her favorite gift was a tiny alpaca figurine made from alpaca hair that I had bought at a craft show. Go figure, lol!

Major hit for the combo gift was dropmix.. they're loving it!

No misses at all this year,

DH loved the Star Wars luggage tag that I got him. It has a picture of R2D2 and C3PO and says, "This is not the bag your looking for." It made me really happy to see him so excited over it.

DD is just 2.5 months, but she really seems to love an elephant toy that I bought her. She smiles and coos at it. Melts my heart. She also seems to like a Baby Einstein toy that lights up and plays music.

HITS: Santa brought my 6 year old a penny gumball machine. He told me he's the luckiest kid in the world.

I scored a Little Tykes Easy Arcade Basketball for $11 on clearance this summer and both boys are digging it.

MISSES: My toilet training resistant three year old refused to open the rest of his stocking after discovering Cars underwear in it.

My oldest dd15, loved the Taylor Swift tickets I scored for her! She was so excited. Loved seeing her face light up. My little one, dd4 loved the Hatchimal from Santa. My middle son, ds10 was most excited by the giant gummy bear he has been wanting. All around a great day. Today, two kids are sick and vomiting. :scared:At least it wasn't on Christmas Day!

But also, she tells me her favorite gift was a tiny alpaca figurine made from alpaca hair that I had bought at a craft show. Go figure, lol!

DH got me one from World Market and I also said it was my favorite gift, LOL!! I also got a roomba and I love it.

Big hit for oldest DS was a t-shirt featuring symbols from an anime called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. He was so excited!

Youngest DS was most excited for a Star Labs hoodie (from the tv show The Flash).

I thought it was hilarious their favorite things were clothing items. They also got a Switch and some games for it, and that was a huge hit.

As for miss, maybe the Calvin and Hobbes books we got them and a board game called Pandemic...which I think they will like once we actually play. No major misses though.

My hit that was a miss on my part. I got my mom a new wheelbarrow and hit it in the shed with ribbons tied to the handles. I completely forgot to give it to her yesterday. This morning when I was at the store I got a text from her asking who she should thank for the wheelbarrow. I hadn't figured out how I was going to give it to her since I wasn't going to bring it in the house and then it snowed, which isn't normal for here at Christmas, and I never remembered I had one more gift to give her. Next time I'll wrap a picture if it's something too big.

Hits for my dd were her larger fire tablet and a big paper cutter. She is also obsessed with her engraver pen.

Misses would be the twenty pieces of clothing I got her to replace her ratty holey stuff. She liked the clothes but was disappointed to find out the big box was full of little clothing packages. That was the first time she got clothes wrapped up posing as a gift. Oops.

And another huge miss was the fingerling monkey. It’s going back to walmart.

I bought Dropmix for my teens after seeing that same Black Friday tip. It is such a big hit with my boys.

Hits: the Disneyland passes, suite at Disneyland Hotel and air for a trip with my 14-year-old twins, oldest DD and her 1-year old. Air and money for 17-year-old DD to fly down to San Diego with her boyfriend and his family tomorrow for 3 days.

No misses that I'm aware of except one from my mom. She just got back from her condo in Hawaii and thought it would be hilarious to wrap a very dead and desiccated gecko as a gift for me. My mom has a very strange sense of humor sometimes.

Big hit for DD8 was Snap Circuits. She asked Santa for them after playing with them at a friend’s house and has spent a lot of time yesterday & this morning working on the projects. She also loved all the books she got, Wonder Woman on DVD, and the Sorry game.

DD4’s biggest hit was probably her PJ Mask toys (although she did ask at first why these don’t light up & talk like the one she has at home - because Mommy didn’t want to pay for all the deluxe cars & got the regular ones from Santa!) She also got some magnetic building toys from my sister called Mag Fun that she’s really liked so far.

I don’t think we had any flops. We’re still at my mom’s house so there are some things we haven’t let them play with yet (science kits, LEGO) but my kids are still little enough that they like pretty much anything they get.

Hits for me: a $100 gift card to the Biltmore Estate for me so DH and I can take an anniversary trip there in the spring. A new pair of slippers- they're nothing fancy but I really wanted a new pair and they're very comfortable!

Hits for DH: A squatty potty. Yes, seriously.

Flops: about 10 minutes before opening his presents, my BIL told us about this cool game his coworker had given him. Also known as, the gift we had sitting there waiting for him to open it.

Another very confusing flop: My MIL buying DH and I a pot and pan set...for the second Christmas in a row. We now have three pot and pan sets and a VERY tiny kitchen, so one of them is going to have to go. It's not that I'm ungrateful as I know it's a pricey gift, but we have never asked for a pot and pan set other than when we got married in 2015, so I'm not sure why we keep receiving them.

I thought of a flop - the remote control car my MIL bought for my DD4 that stopped working less than 5 minutes after she took it out of the package, then in trying to fix it we noticed a screw was missing from the battery compartment. I don’t know what brand it was, I suspect she got it at 5 Below, but she said she can take it back & get another one. DD4 seems to have already forgotten about it, so it doesn’t matter to me if she actually replaces it or not. My kids have so much stuff, lol.

Another sort of flop - AMNH for never sending the cards for the membership my mom bought us! She ordered it on Nov 29th, emailed them when she still hadn’t received the cards by Dec 15th and they said there was a delay in processing her order and they would be sent out the following Monday. They still didn’t arrive by yesterday so today she called them, and they said the cards still hadn’t been sent! This person said she would send them out today. Then they called again and said they were adding two months to our membership term to make up for the delays, so that’s something at least.

We didn't have very many flops as my DD's are just really into typical teen things like Marvel, Disney onsies, bath & body GC's and tsum tsums. AND my boys are obsessed with legos and football. We got them plenty of legos and Denver Broncos helmets and jerseys.

We ended up going with way less this year for gifts but all the kids were happy.

@Ava my boys both love snap circuits. We have a few sets also and they still play with them years after we got them.

Hits:
Forbidden Island game for DD16, we've played it twice and she's having friends out tonight to play it
Pushpin map of US for DD16
Ivory Ella long sleeve tees for both girls
Fuf chair for DD19's dorm room (though it doesn't fit in her car so we'll have to deliver it)
Bearpaw boots for DD16

Flops:
Just some minor duplication of gifts, and a Just Dance 2018 Wii game that glitches
