Ok, we just came back a few days ago from Orlando. Yes, its hot in August, so I understand the swimsuits, or cover ups.

However, one woman just had me rolling. We were in the Toon Lagoon section of Islands of Adventure. Remember this is a wet area, with two wet rides.

This woman was in her late 50's-60's. I guess she didn't think of this, but she was walking around in a white sports bra. The bra was too small for her body frame as well. Of course when thin sports bra get wet, we know what happens.

So now me and DH were thinking.. mercy what was she thinking!

The funniest part of this whole thing was someone was taking her picture.. looking like that! I can only imagine the photos later on.. here's grandma!

I'm shocked no one has yelled at you yet for being judgemental. :p

(which I definately don't believe you are! I believe there is a line of good and bad taste and 50/60 year old women in white sports bras is definately crossing that line from good to bad! :p )

I think ANYONE in a too-small, wet, white sports bra has crossed that line - regardless of age!!!

We were at Disney a couple weeks ago and we noticed the other extreme. People dressed in Jeans and long sleeves and we saw a women dressed in a sweat suit. I don't mean to be judgemental but it was 95 degress for crying out loud. Amazing!!!

Like they say..."it takes all kinds" and you see all kinds at Disney.

I saw a lot of long sleeves and pants as well. I also saw women in full burqa's - hajib's as well.

I can understand being totally covered up. Some people want to protect their skin I have a friend who has skin cancer but her family are all water nuts so instead of just sitting at home she covers up..... but the white sports bra...either it was...gee...I have nothing to wear or boy I have a heathly self esteem....it's just too bad others had to look at her!

While we (myself, DH, my mom, DD14 & DD7) were at DTD in May we saw parents letting their three boys play in the water. The boys were soaked all the way through their white fruit of the looms! My DD7 said, "That is nasty! You aren't supposed to play in your underwear in public!" These boys were probably 6 to 10 yrs. old. Too old in my opinion to be allowed to play like they were. When the parents told them it was time to go, they pitched such a fit that they (the parents and grandma by this time) didn't make them put their shorts back on "because they don't want to get their shorts wet!" We were flabbergasted and quickly went the other way.

My girls do wear swimsuits while in the park but they are still covered up unless they know they are going to get wet like on a ride.

Just my two cents. Thanks for letting me share.

I am greatly amused by what people choose to wear (or not wear, as the case may be). Do they not own a mirror? If so, do they really look in it and think they are dressed appropriately? Of course, this grandma may have totally known what she was doing and wanted to give everyone "show."

DD (11) was greatly grossed out by what could be seen through the very tight and stretchy suits of some of the male track participants in the Olympics...when male dancers wear that spandex-y material, they wear a dance cup. Does it hurt your running or jumping if you wear some kind of cup?

My boys are 3 & 5 but whenever we go somewhere there's a "water fountain playground" I always just dress them in their swimsuits as shorts with a t-shirt. That way if they want to play, off comes the t-shirt and sneakers but they are still dressed in a bathing suit. I realize they're only little, but I want them to appreciate what is and is not appropriate!

When DH and I are at WDW, we are constantly saying "no mirror in their hotel room".;)

I just got back from WDW yesterday and I was amazed at the amount of young girls that only were wearing bathing suit bottoms in the pool....I am not talking 3 or 4 year old kids..I am talking 9, 10 and 11 year old girls....some of the other kids in the pool just kept saying "oh thats so gross I wish they would put a top on"....I know one was speaking French and 2 others had an English accent and another had an accent I couldn't recognize but I figured that since they were here and in a WDW pool they would wear what we did.....

We got back on Sunday and I am still in shock by all the sagging hmmmm upper body parts I saw. Bras are your friend!

I can't beleive you're being so judgemental over that poor older woman!

Did you ever stop and think that. . uhhhh. . well she might have. . hmmmm. . .

:scratchin

Nope, I guess you're right. . she wasn't thinking. .

And they took pictures?? :scared1:

;)

:p

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just back from Orlando also and I came to the conclusion that if I see another belly button it will be way too soon.

Also women who are just wearing bathing suit tops and pushing strollers should check themselves out in a mirror sometime - not a pretty sight either

Hi Marla! Welcome back! :wave2:
