My parents were in charge, they taught us things that we needed to know without making it a lesson. They were life lessons that we took forward in life.
We ate dinner at the table, went to church, had bedtimes, and curfews as we got older,
Respect yourself and other, table manners, being polite, how to speak and address other, especially other adults, how to behave outside of the house.
All the basic's things like laundry, cooking, how to sew a button on, how to iron which came in handy when my brother went in the Air Force.
Think for yourself, don't follow the crowd... My dad always said if they all run and jump of a cliff and you gonna run and jump to.?
As well you had to work hard to get anywhere, nothing is given or free... there is always a catch, and if someone try to tell you it is, they are no good.
Don't judge other, mind your own business, be nice...
Watch your surrounding, be alert and aware of what is happening around you. This could save your life.
Trust is something that is earned and not just given away
Never Ever talk Politic or Religion with family or friends if you want to stay family and friends..
My grandmother taught us that " God gave you warning bells, listen to them!" If your around someone that doesn't feel right, or makes you nervous, or sick to your stomach, get away from them...My granddad taught us all how to grow a garden.
Freedom isn't free... lots of Military and Law enforcement in my family
