What were the odds?

On April 24, 2014 my wife and I sailed on a three day cruise on the Disney Dream. We had some wonderful table mates and an overall great time.

On April 30th we sailed on the Disney Fantasy. While I dropped the wife and kids off at the port, I went to return my rental car.

Upon the shuttle ride back to the ship, I was seated next to a man and a woman from Germany.

They just happened to be our table mates from over two years ago and we had never kept in touch before.

We were all shocked! Needless to say, we exchanged information this time. Such a fun couple and the odds were truly slim to none. Especially to be seated on the same rental car shuttle and same cruise.

We got along so great with our table mates from our January cruise on the Dream! We're all cruising together again in November. Disney does a great job of pairing you up (yes I know it always doesn't work out but mostly they do amazing).

Awesome! Except this wasn't done by Disney.

Isn't it funny how these things happen? On one cruise we discovered onboard that our neighbors from directly across the street AND a neighbor down the street from us were on our cruise. We live in Orlando, so it's not like we all traveled far, but still! Then, a year later, that same neighbor from down the street was on the same cruise again! Now we take cruises together on purpose so we can sit together :)
Even funnier (and more like your story), on one of our cruise meets I thought I recognized a name of a cruiser from a previous cruise. But she was from the UK, so how could that be? Turns out, we DID know her. We had even done mixology with her. And now we are friends and meet up when she comes here for Disney. It's such a cliche, but it's true: it's a small world after all!

On our first Disney cruise where we asked for a single table, we were seated next to a family from California and started talking to them. By the second night we pulled our tables together and had been friends since that cruise in 2004. We visited them in California, they visited us on the east coast. We stayed in touch for about 10 years, but unfortunately they seemed to drop off the face of the earth a few years ago and we haven't heard from them since! But it was so nice meeting them on the cruise and getting to know them!

We sail around the same dates each year and have run into quite a few people from previous cruises.
