Let's see. Today was a banner day for price increases. None of this will break our budget, it's just symptomatic of the times and annoying as heck.

Got the satellite bill: Up $3

Newspaper bill: Up $2

Target Bananas: Up to 24 cents per, from 19 cents per.

Gas: Don't want to talk about that.

So, what went up for you today?

not today but this school year, registration fee for DS sport at school $160 per sport..it doubled from $80. I have to pay it today, however.

I noticed at the grocery store that normal hamburger, the 82-85% kind went up about 60 cents a pound

coffee..BIG jump in the cost of Folgers ( what we buy) and getting harder and harder to get the 270 cup size included ina sale.

Once I am out of the house this morning I will see what else, oh, wiper blades! DH had to get some last night and he was shocked at how pricey the selection was...:confused3

one thing I noticed a year or so ago was take out Chinese,, our places went up about a $1 per item..which is a big jump, I think. We have not orderd take out since then.

Got the form in the mail to enter DD into the lottery for full-day kindergarten in September. I was told it was $3000, turns out it is $3250 this upcoming fall. She is turning 6 in the fall, was ready for K last year... after 3 years of 1/2 day preschool she NEEDS full-day school! :scared1: (can you sense my excitement by ticker? LOL)

I went grocery shopping on Monday after we were away for 10 days. Pretty much everything went up in produce! And while DH was at work yesterday gas went up .04 a gallon from when he left in the morning.

Our electric bill went up $100.00 this month, double what it normally is! Apparently there was a cap(?) on what the electric companies could charge and it came off this year!

Our mortgage went up $120 (and my blood pressure, along with it).
Gas, of course.

Haven't ventured out to see what else.

gas went up Tues by 5 cents and then another 5 cents yesterday. Scared to go the grocery store later and actually look at the prices...if it's staples items (eggs, milk, bread) I have to buy anyway I usually buy the same things and tend not to pay attention to the price, but that is going to change. I did realize the other day that the local convenience store has milk at 60 cents cheaper per gallon than the grocery store. That is a big savings considering I buy at least 4 gallons of milk per week.

Some thing I really noticed at the grocery store and we go to wal mart for our grocery because they are the cheapest. I noticed that bread went from 1.19$ to 1.44$ oranges went from .33$ each to .54$ each avocado went from 1$ to 1.24$ each seasoning packag wen from .64$ to 1.08$ and that's just what I really noticed from memory. I am not looking forward to going back next week.

I got a little note in the mail yesterday from our oil delivery service. Our heating oil went from $160 on the budget plan to $300/month starting in March. :headache:

Apparently our contract has a clause in it that allows them to raise the price if a barrel of crude rises above a certain price. It reached that price on Monday. They didn't waste any time getting the notices out.

I think every thing we are seeing is the result of speculation on the crisis in the middle east.

Barrel of oil is at a all time high. It may reach $150 bucks a gallon.

So, the produce people expenses are up to harvest and ship produce.
Clothing is going to skyrocket because petroleum is needed in manufacturing and shipping.
Any other energy cost is going to skyrocket.

Too bad we never got serious about alternative energy because once again we are feeling the effects on our dependancy to oil.

Now Libya only kicks in about 5% to our petroleum consumption. the problem is the leaders of the major players, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran are all worried that their country will be next in line for revolution

Gas prices have soared in the past couple of days! Also, produce has gone up since last week around here. Basically, everything will be more expensive with the current middle east issues.

Are you in PA? I switched to ConEd after doing a lot of research. Their price is set for 1 year and is quite a bit less than Peco if you sign up online. No termination fee. Hope that helps. :cutie: :bride:princess::littleangel:

And that's why I'm hesitant to buy a house with oil heat. We have gas right now, and as you know, are thinking about moving to another school district. I think I'm going to stick to gas if I can...

I was at the grocery store yesterday and wanted to get some tomatoes. They had just about doubled in price so we'll be doing without those for a while.

I keep seeing these price jumps here and there. It's the pits.

Gas went up $.30 this week

Grape tomatoes are now $4.48 a carton and they are green YUCK

My dad owns a milk distributorship and he told me last night that milk is going up $.20 a gallon

Cucumbers are $.98 a piece when they are usually $.50

That's all I've noticed so far but I haven't been to the store this week. I'm going to start stocking my pantry with canned goods and non-perishables because I don't think it's going to get better anytime soon. And I'm going to plant an extra large garden this year and try to can what I can or freeze what I can. Soon I might be in full Amish mode and riding in a horse and buggy.

So far, I think only our mortgage went up and it was only $35/mo

I haven't been to the grocery store in 3 weeks, I hope prices haven't gone up. I use the Commissary now that DH is back in the Reserves, and they try to keep prices much lower.

I was just thinking I was having a pretty good year, because most everything had gone down and our heat has been half this year what it was last year and we have had some really nice weather here this last week or two and I haven't had to use the heat much if at all.

Wegman's announced that they are freezing prices on many of their items through the end of this year. Wegman's rocks! http://www.nacsonline.com/NACS/News/Daily/Pages/ND0224117.aspx

Gas at one station went up 7 cents between 4am and 11am today. Seven cents?! I seriously doubt that was the result of anything happening anywhere in the world. Luckily I bought at Costco and it was 4 cents cheaper.

The corner gas station has gone up 8 cents from yesterday. For petes sakes! By the time we have to travel to my out of state DR what is the price gonna be??:confused3

Gas went up over $.20 a gallon this week. Yikes! I noticed that produce prices had gone up this week, too. Lettuce was $1.54 a head, when it is usually $.99. There was a sign above it talking about poor growing conditions leading to a shortage of certain produce items. Guess we will be eating more frozen vegetables than ever. But I DO like a nice salad now and then! That will have to wait until the summer, I think.
