What week is best in January?

We plan on trying to take advantage of our PAP by taking a 3rd trip in January.....We are crazy I know. We want to take a good friend of ours who has not been in a while and want to foot the bill because she's been a great help with the opening of our motel here and we want to say thanks.

We would like to know what week to avaoid for crowds and marathons etc....

Which week is best? Our PAP are good until Feb 7th....

We are going from Nov. 30th till Dec 21 so we will have seen the X-mas decorations by then.

Anytime in January is good except MLK weekend. We usually go in the beginning, around the 6th or so.

MLK weekend???? Is this an American thing? Sorry but I'm a little confused.

When is it? When is the marathon? Do we have to worry about the cheerleaders?

MLK stands for Martin Luther King, and yes it's an American holiday. It falls on a Monday and children have off from school on that day. In 2004 I believe it's the 19th of January.

The marathon is the weekend of the 11th, I believe. So the early part of the month might be more crowded than the week after the 19th. Most schools that close for MLK day are only closed for that day, so folks would have a 3-day weekend and be back at school and work on the 20th. Since your PAPs are good till Feb. 7, I'd go late in January to miss the marathon and MLK day crowds.
