What an interesting question! I typically have had great interaction with the characters or at least, THEY interact well with me but I've been flustered, awe-struck, or trying to deal with my crying child who is scared so I say thank you and take off (not their fault!). But I did have a bad experience at Chef Mickey's during dinner this past April. Let's forget that the restaurant is gross, dirty, has bad food, and is filled with screaming, unbehaved children. The characters were in such a hurry. I was most disappointed in MICKEY!!! He barely wanted to take photos with us, was annoyed, and didn't want to TOUCH MY CHILDREN! Now maybe I have a touch of 'my kids are great' syndrome but seriously, my children were very well behaved and not dirty or messy (we wash hands several times, use napkins, wipes, and hand sanitizer and our clothes are clean) but Mickey was annoyed that we wanted a few photos (with kids, with me, with all of us - yes 3 photos) and if he didn't have that set 'mask' on, I swear he would have looked disgusted. The good thing is that the kids didn't notice and they loved their dinner there. DH and I however did notice (but we don't say anything to the kids).
Our Mickey last May was impatient, too. In fact, I happened to be taping his time at our table, and we all yell "Impatient Mickey!" when we watch it. My mom's camera didn't go off, and she asked him to wait, and he starts tapping his fingers on the back of the kids' chairs. I think it's hilarious, especially with the big plastic smile, but I can totally see the girl inside rolling her eyes.
