What Was Your Worst Character Greeting Moment?

Sorry you guys had a bad experience, but there was also no reason for your DH to be like that you know. He could of handled the situation better in my opinion. Have a magical day!

Other than comment to me as we were walking away that he did not like the guy, all DH did was give him that look. We did not notice how he was looking at him until we were home and I was uploading the pictures. I normally take 2 - 3 at the max pictures per character (out of respect for the people waiting in line behind us), normally it is one of ds looking (because dd is looking at ds telling him to look at me)and then one of dd looking at me (ds is looking at people going by), sometimes I get lucky and both at the same time (it would take half the day to get a perfect pic). I guess in the future I need to look at DH as well when doing a quick view after each pic.

We all (kids too) thank each character and handler cm's (not sure of their exact title) and tell them to have a great day when we are leaving. Peter was no exception to this.

We also thank the ride attendants when exiting the rides.

The song "A Whole New World" is very special to our family and is our DS's "song" - when we went to meet Jasmine and Aladdin last year (my DS was 1), I mentioned this to Jasmine and she looked at me like I was crazy and said "Really?" in a super snotty voice. She really ruined what I was hoping to be a very special moment. To the cast members' credit, however, that is the ONLY bad experience we have had with a character or any other cast member for that matter!

back when they did pirate parties...I was so excited to meet capt jack..sadly I got a lame one. I am not into characters and pictures and all the stuff so many enjoy about Disney, but meeting Capt jack was exciting for me at the time. he did his picture and his job, but he just had no personality. I was so clearly bummed, my husband offered we try again later and get a different capt jack. i almost didnt because I was so turned off and bummed. He talked me into it so we tried again later and that time I got a good capt jack and that saved the experience for me

I was excited this time to meet the mad hatter as I had watched some youtube of him at DL..lets just say the WDW is no where as cool as the one at DL.

But on a good note at the same pirate party a couple years ago I met the queen of hearts..again not much into characters, but she was outstanding and impressed me a whole lot..wish everyone could meet characters as good as that one!

I don't know which Mad Hatter you had at WDW but the one that we had this past February was great! We meet him at 1900 Park Fare and he spent a lot of time with us and took fun pictures with the kids. He had the voice and character down perfectly and since DD was dressed as Alice, he made a big deal about talking to her as if she was Alice.

We have a couple. The first is not so bad but more of the wrong person for the job of a face character. We were at 1900 Park Fare and the person playing Mary Poppins was 100% male! I am talking Adam's apple, 5 o'clock shadow, deep manly voice, etc. I am all for equal rights and everything, but look the part.

The other time was when our littlest DD was a little over 1 yo. We were up in the special lounge above the Garden Grill and Chip and Dale were up there visiting guests. It started as a very nice thing having some informal low intensity time to visit some characters. There was a woman without children up there outwardly expressing that she did not feel it was appropriate for children and characters to be up in the lounge (which was free to AP holders!). Well, she threw the performer off his/her game and made him accidentally knock over a drink. This lady throws an absolute fit causing the character to back up knocking over my DD! She was not hurt, but it completely freaked her out. She was not alright with any masked characters until she was about 4 yo.

For some reason she did NOT like him. Lion King is one of her favorites and she just can't bring herself to like him. We will be back in two weeks and I asked her last night if she wanted to meet him and she said NO!

I'm looking at that picture and I have to say I don't blame the girl at all. That's a rather "extreme" looking character. Especially from her point of view, I would think!

Although I think that the characters who are out for the MNSSHP are rare and awesome, I have a hard time enjoying them. We've all but given up on doing these meets during the party...they just seem too rushed, and there is just so much more to do then wait in line for them. I know there are people who feel differently, but I didn't even get much interaction with them when we did wait...oh well, Just my opinion.

Last christmas we stood in line for about 30 minutes to see Mickey at Camp Mini Mickey. A large family/group was in front of us. They were loud and extremely rude the whole time. For example, we could have done without the burping contest! The mom won. Anyway, after 30 minutes they got up to Mickey just as their youngest threwup all over Mickey. Everyone was horrified. Poor Mickey had to run off backstage. A Disney moment we woudl all love to forget!

I didn't think your post was overly critical. . .everyone is sharing interesting stories. I doubt most people took offense to your comments.

Personally, I had to chuckle when I saw the look your DH was giving him. There are several stories about the same Peter - so I am guessing that he might not be as "fun" as some of the other characters.

Well, last year I couldn't get away from Pooh. He kept groping me and wouldn't let go. At first it was funny, then the more he stroked on me the worse I was feeling. My husband just kept laughing, which I think egged Pooh on. My daughter (age 8) started to get scared because Pooh wouldn't let go of me. He even ran after me when I finally broke from his grip. He caught me again and almost hurt me when he grabbed on again. He just kept squeezing me in his grip and groping me (front and back), which by this time I was mortified. Finally the CM asked him to "let go of the nice lady and get back inside for more pictures".

Late 1980's: our first visit to MK with DD age 5. The very first character we encounter, just inside the entrance, is the now rare Big Bad Wolf - all 6'6" or so of him (not sure how tall - he seemed that big). I mean, huge! Daughter freaked, and from then on we had trouble getting her to approach any character.

Although I feel bad for everyone who has posted on here. It is such a good thread. I keep checking back and find myself laughing each time. You all have had such a good attitude towards those curveballs that get thrown our way.

We met that Peter in late July - during the family magic tour at MK and he was the worst! I have to say that I have never commented (other than saying positive things) about character interactions but he was just so annoying. He was bored, he was snarky, it was ridiculous, I actually had to watch the movie Peter Pan again to see if he was just in character...

How funny to see his photo posted here - that was definitely the same Peter - and wow, the DH is looking at him like I was thinking.



Maybe Peter should transfer and be one of the characters who wears a mask and doesn't say anything?

I was excited this time to meet the mad hatter as I had watched some youtube of him at DL..lets just say the WDW is no where as cool as the one at DL.

I just wanted to say that I'm addicted to the videos of the Mad Hatter in Disneyland. (My favorite is "Squishy Hatter") I met him in July and he was fantastic. I saw him early in the day and he even remembered my name later on when I saw him again. When I first saw him, I literally ran from City Hall to about where Tony's is in WDW. It was def. inappropriate for a 22 year old to do, but I was almost screaming from excitement. I never did get to see the one in WDW because all three days that we were in the MK, he wasn't out taking pictures. But it's okay, I'm saving myself for Squishy Hatter. My friend told me to slip him my number, I was like ! It's Disneyland, that's highly inappropriate.

Ok, and that's the end of the most embarrassing post ever. Just wanted to share my love for DL's Mad Hatter.

My worst character dining experience was at Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast!!!! We were a party of 12 dining there for my niece who had dreamed of seeing the princesses. Belle was apparently too busy to visit all of us. My son was only 11 months old at the time so he really didn't know what was going on. She said quickly in passing "I will get back to you" which she never did. I didn't really care about seeing the princesses, but I figure for the price you pay it would be common decency to visit every guest. I will say that the Fairy Godmother and Snow White made up for Belle's lack of personality. Thank god I have boys and won't have to endure another meal at CRT!!!!
