What Was Your Wedding Song and Why?

Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney. Dh got to choose the song and he said it was exactly how he felt.

Ok, showing my age but "The Wedding Song" by Paul Stukey (sp) of Peter, Paul and Mary.

Truly,Madly,Deeply by Savage Garden

It was the first slow song we danced to and when we couldn't be together(Dh is in the Army) it was always on the radio and would be a reminder!

Our wedding song was Here lies the difference(from now and what use to be) by Kenny Rogers.....very romantic!

Just You and I by Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gale.

Thats how it was then, just the 2 of us. 18yrs and 2 kids later, we are still growing strong. I still cry when I listen to that song.

We had traditional wedding music, but our first dance was to "To Make You Feel My Love" by Garth Brooks. (It's the love song from Hope Floats)

I love that song! Our song was "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. :goodvibes

"True Colors" by Phil Collins.

Early on in our relationship, we used to make each other CDs. Seems like we eventually ran out of songs! :rotfl2: One of the times, we exchanged CDs on the same weekend and we both gave each other the Bangles version. In part, becuase it was from the old "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" pre-show. But, the words were just so perfect for us... it was with eachother that we both learned we could be ourselves and show our "true colors." It just kid of became our song with no thought put into it.

Here's some first dance pictures from the YC in December :cloud9:

Theme from Ice Castles....am I dating myself with that one????? It was a beautiful song though. I also sang it to my dd the day we brought her home from the hospital.

Please don't let this feeling end
it might not come again
and I want to remember
how it feels to touch you
how it feels so much
since I found you
looking through the eyes of love.

And now I do believe
that even in storm
we'll find some light
Knowing you're beside me
I'm alright

WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL By Allison Krauss I heard it one day about a month before our wedding. Just listening to the words made me think of DH. He isn't a big talker but he does little things, or will just give me a look, that says more than words about how he feels. I still tear up everytime I hear it....and if it comes on the radio one of us will call the other to say we heard our song.

Our was the same one, but the Keith Whitley version!!! After the "you may kiss the bride", we walked back down the isle to Garth Brooks "Two Of A Kind, Working On A Full House" LOL!!

Annie's Song by John Denver :cloud9:

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like a mountain in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

Our first song was "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", from Lion King (Elton Johns version). We started and our wedding party joined in. Our going away song was "Beautiful In My Eyes", by Joshua Kaddison.

Our song was "From this Moment"-Shania Twain. We just knew when we heard it that is was our song.

(I do swear that I'll always be there. I'd give anything
and everything and I will always care. Through weakness
and strength, happiness and sorrow, for better, for worse,
I will love you with every beat of my heart.)

From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on

You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on

Tiggersmom, I love, love, love Annies Song. I wanted that but DH wanted Ther's No Way by Alabama and I was so thrilled that he had picked something, I agreed, lol. It's actually a beautiful song......

There's no way I could make it without you
there;s no way, I'd even try
if I had to survive without you in my life
I wouldn't last a single day, oh babe-there's no way :goodvibes

We couldn't have a dance at our reception but we decided that these two songs fit so well that if we decide to renew our vowels they would be included.Could not ask for more by Sara Evans

Lying here with you
listenin' to the rain
smilin just to see
the smile upon your face

These are the moments
I thank god that I'm alive
These are the moments I remember all my life
I've found all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more

Looking in your eyes
seein' all I need
Everything you are
Is everything to me

These are the moments
I know heaven must exist
These are the moments
I know all I need is this
I've found all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more

I could not ask for more than this time together
Could not ask for more than this time with you
And Every prayer has been answered,
Every dream I've had's come true
I've found all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.

And our other song now is Your Still the one by Shania Twain because we were married very young and actually my parents didn't even come to our wedding they opposed so much. We have raised each other it seems like over the years and we have been through a ton of "speed bumps" but we are working on 10 years now.

(When I first saw you, I saw love.
And the first time you touched me, I felt love.
And after all this time, you're still the one I love.)

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday

Bridge:
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

Chorus:
(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

Ain't nothin' better
We beat the odds together
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin'

(Bridge)
(Chorus)
(Chorus)

I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come my baby

Ours was by the Indigo Girls, and my DH and I thought it fit our life pretty good:

Here's the lyrics:

"Power of Two"

Now the parking lot is empty
Everyone’s gone someplace
I pick you up and in the trunk I’ve packed
A cooler and a 2-day suitcase
Cause there’s a place we like to drive
Way out in the country
Five miles out of the city limit we’re singing
And your hand’s upon my knee

So we’re okay
We’re fine
Baby I’m here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I’m stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We’ll look at them together then we’ll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that’s true
Multiply life by the power of two

You know the things that I am afraid of
I’m not afraid to tell
And if we ever leave a legacy
It’s that we loved each other well
Cause I’ve seen the shadows of so many people
Trying on the treasures of youth
But a road that fancy and fast
Ends in a fatal crash
And I’m glad we got off
To tell you the truth

Cause we’re okay
We’re fine
Baby I’m here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I’m stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We’ll look at them together then we’ll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that’s true
Multiply life by the power of two

All the shiny little trinkets of temptation
(make new friends)
Something new instead of something old
(but keep the old)
All you gotta do is scratch beneath the surface
(but remember what is gold)
And it’s fools gold
(what is gold)
Fools gold
(what is gold)
Fools gold

Now we’re talking about a difficult thing
And your eyes are getting wet
I took us for better and I took us for worse
Don’t you ever forget it
Now the steel bars between me and a promise
Suddenly bend with ease
The closer I’m bound in love to you
The closer I am to free

So we’re okay
We’re fine
Baby I’m here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I’m stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We’ll look at them together then we’ll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that’s true
Multiply life by the power of two

And we'll be at WDW for our 8th wedding anniversary... YAY! Now I'm feelin' all romantic-like...

Ours was Flying without wings by Ruben Studdard. I was a Bama girl, Ruben had just won AI, and I love, love, love this song!

I won't past the whole song, but this is the last verse, and the verse that brought us both to tears!

[Verse 3]
But for me it's waking up beside you
To watch the sun rise on your face
To know that I can say I love you
At any given time or place
It's the little things that only I know
Those are the things that make you mine, all mine
And it's the flying without wings
'Cuz you're my special thing
I'm flying without wings
You're the place my life begins
And you'll be where it ends
I'm flying without wings
And that's the joy it brings
I'm flying without wings
