I agonized over these gifts this year. DD13, soon to be 14. I kept secret for months One Direction Tickets that I bought for us and for her to take a friend. She was thrilled!!! I also got a ticket stub diary on amazon which is neat and Taylor Swift tickets too. (She knew about Taylor but no clue over one direction!!).

Tickets and a computer game were her top hits easily! I really tried to think outside the box this christmas and got her a neat williams sonoma cocoa maker she liked, clothes, etc. but I could have stopped with the tickets and game!! :)

She has a birthday coming up in 6 weeks so I need ideas. Whose next? popcorn::

I originally started looking for 1D tickets for dd but it was going to be 250-300 per ticket on Stubhub. I just couldn't do it. She saw them in June anyway.
So I got her Taylor Swift tickets and taped the ticket to the month of the concert in a Taylor Swift calendar. She loved it and was so surprised!!!!!

Her other big gift was a tv. We have up until this point not allowed tv's in bedrooms but she's almost 16 and doesn't watch much and it's time to start accumulating things she can take when she goes off to school in 2 years.

The rest was make up, clothes, Sims Games and books. There didn't appear to be anything she didn't like. It was a great Christmas overall:)

DD17 loved all her gifts, but she was most surprised by the car! :drive:

Oh geez glad I don't have to worry about that QUITE yet but what an awesome surprise that must have been!:)

My DD loves One Direction and has never seen them in concert. I needed a WOW Gift and that was it! I was blessed enough to get the tickets at face value (no price hike or I wouldn't have done it). Glad your DD liked her Taylor Swift tickets! I was going to surprise my DD with the swift tix but for some reason our iphones are synced with reminders and I reminded myself via my iphone to tell my friend what she owes me for the taylor swift tickets!!! UGH. So DD got off the bus all smiles. Sigh.

Lets see...I have three teen girls. Thier favorites were:
Bonus DD13: video camera and makeup kit

DD(almost)14: Animal ear hats (she got several so she was THRILLED), rhinestone headphones

DD15: Cell phone and framed picture of her and her dad who was just diagnosed with a critical illness with a very grim prognosis.

Oh I am so sorry about the illness.

Oh I loathe when a surprise is ruined!! This year we got ds the Lego Mindstorm. It was ultra secret. Until my husband said loudly (honestly, in that moment it felt like he was shouting) "When do I have to go pick up the Lego Mindstorm?"
Ds was 20 feet away.:worried:

However before I could pick up the nearest object and hurl it at him, it became apparent that ds for once wasn't paying any attention to what we were saying and didn't even notice. Crisis averted:rotfl:

Nothing too spectacular for DS17. He wanted a couple Carhartt sweatshirts, NE Patriots sweatshirt, some video games, hooded vest & coffee maker. So that's what I got him. While he liked everything he got, I don't think there was a WOW gift.

DS15 however, loved all of his computer parts that I got him. He thought he was just getting the computer parts. But I ended up also getting him things like the mouse, keyboard, headset, etc. What he didn't know was that I also bought him the desk & computer chair that he wanted and he opened that up at my SIL's house (we had it shipped there so he wouldn't see it). He was SOOOOO happy. SO I would have to say it was the desk/chair for him.

My daughter 15 was thrilled with the Taylor Swift tickets she got but went utterly bonkers for two much smaller gifts. One was a pair of sparkly, leopard print Toms, and the other was a new doorknob for her room. Seriously, the doorknob was the biggest hit because hers broke forever ago and we just never fixed it. Almost as a joke we bought one, wrapped it up, and put it under the tree. She was tickeled pink by it. I loved her reaction, LOL

My son 14 loves his iPod Touch but his favorite gift was the Messi (professional soccer player) jersey we got him. Even though he asked for it, I guess he didn't expect he would get it. I love seeing them really enjoy the smaller things. It's always the unexpected that thrills you the most :goodvibes

Mine are grandchildren.

19yo DGD had presented her list, and she has expensive tastes. She got riding boots, watch and purse, all of her choice. She went NUTS over the Minecraft Lego kit that I had managed to grab during one of the brief moments it was in stock at Lego.

16yo DGS loved the fancy tripod flashlight that I got for his scout camping trips.

11yo DGD loved the art computer program and the "creeper" tshirts (from the Minecraft game that they all play)

Our DD17 (18 on Saturday!) favorite gift wasn't even the most expensive one. We bought her a sony blu ray player and she liked that pretty well, but we also picked her up a $50 ukelele and she never put it down all day Christmas Day. She loves music and some friends have ukes so she is so excited to be able to play with them.

It's a tie with my girls between the MacBooks and our Disney trip next week.

My DD13 got 1D tix too. Over $250 for two tix in the nosebleed section because I waited until the show sold out and didn't listen to her and purchase them last summer when she first asked and they were only $45.

That and a trip to Disney, not much else . . .

LOL I know DD became obsessed with 1D AFTER the tickets went on sale and sold out!!! Of course....But someone came thru for me and I purchased them at face value but still spent 350 b/c I am making DH go with me and then I am letting DD bring a friend....So I am really like spending double what I should...

For us the 1D tickets went on sale the exact same day that the show she went to went on sale. So we were kind of excited to get the summer tickets and figured that would be enough. Once she saw them she really wanted to go again but it was hopeless at that point. Stupid boy bands:rotfl2:

My DD's (15) favorite gifts this year were:

* a vanity
* a Victoria's Secret fleece stadium blanket

DD 14's favs were her short Chestnut Uggs, an awesome Hunger Games hoodie I got from Cafe Press, some awesome HG shirts from the same place, and a VS zip hoodie
