Ohh, I love a bargin! I have been looking for a nice garnet birthstone ring for my DD. Saw one I liked for $235 a week ago but decided to check one more place. Went back to store last night for $235 ring I'd seen and it was 60% off, plus 20% off for using my store charge card and I had a coupon for an extra 20% off - ended up paying $60 for the ring! I felt sooo good when I walked out of there. What was your big holiday bargin??

What a great deal! I've found some good deals on clothes at Kohl's lately, but nothing outstanding.

My all-time best deal of my entire life was when I used to work for Walgreens corporate office. A lot of vendors would send gifts to the officers and buyers, and theoretically they were not allowed to accept them  . Anyway, they had an employee store where they sold vendor samples and these "gifts" to the employees for really cheap prices. We affectionately called it the "junk room". One day I was poking around in there and saw a couple of boxes of dishes. They were very pretty, and I knew they were some kind of china, so I bought them as a gift for a friend who was moving into her own apartment. It turned out to be 8 place settings of Royal Doulton china, which had been currently selling for $140 a PLACE SETTING. I paid $8.00 for all 8 place settings! I couldn't believe my good luck, things like that never happen to me.

Wow Jill! I bet (if you weren't before) now considered your friends "best" friend !

Wow! Great bargains and great gifts! That Royal Doulton china bargain is amazing! :p

I was out shopping with my mother on Monday and found a cute little brown skirt with palm trees on it for $3.00. It sounds tacky, but it's really not. Or, maybe it is and I just have tacky taste. :p It's not a gift, but a bargain just the same. :p

I'd love to hear more bargin stories (and wish I had lots more). The best bargin story I can think of happened to a friend of mine who was visiting NJ from the South. We went to the Jersey Gardens Outlet and she found this store that she knew, but I didn't. They had a lot of sweaters for inexpensive prices and she was snatching them up as Christmas pressies for her family (even though it was summer). I found a skirt and she insisted on buying it for me. I only let her because it was $1!!! Now it's not the greatest skirt, but it's nice enough to wear to work. It's kind of a light green long skirt with a tie in front. I've worn it plenty of times in the summer. For $1, I couldn't lose!

Ok, shopping and bargains are my middle name..

WEll, I always get bargains, so to me its all in studying the store, and sale patterns.

I never ever pay full price for anything.

I can think of some good ones... a leap pad accessory was $25/ got it for $10.

Personally I've studied all the Black Friday ads, and nothing to me is an amazing price for me to want to part with my hard earned money.. nothing is truly jumping this year for me.

Some sales are good, but not excellent.. I only go when they are excellent.

well...In Gurnee two weekends ago..at Value City..there were a pair of size 8 girls jeans...reg. priced at 21.99...they had been clearenced ONE time to .10....(yup..10 cents).

Obviously they had been marked wrong..as all the other jeans were priced at 10.00....but these were definately marked 10 cents!

The manager had to come to the register and said..MAMN...these are marked wrong...I said..I am sure they are...but...they are marked 10 cents and by law..you must sell me them for the price marked. He asked if there were more jeans priced at that price..I laughed..and said if there was I would have all of them in my hand!

He gave me the jeans for 10 cents!!!!!! They are XOXO jeans!!!

Gotta love a bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful stories....I love bargins so much, they don't even have to be my bargins, I enjoy hearing about everyone's lucky deals.

Katie, I was just at Value City in Gurnee Mills on Sunday, and there were no bargains as good as yours! I did find some great deals on wrapping paper and toys though. As much as I hate that store, I always have to stop in and scope it out though.

Jeanfl...I was pleasently suprised at Value City this year. It was ALMOST organized! Definately improving!

We(a group of friends and myself) only get up there 1 or 2 times a year...But it is loads of fun. We spend 1.5 days at Gurnee and 1.5 days at Schaumberg..and still don't see everything!!

I can't wait till Kohls open up in Gurnee..although..I am afraid my great bargins in central illinois will get sent up to Gurnee..and us southerns will be out of luck!!!!

I just bought a Sylvania 19 inch TV 4-Head VCR Combo at Sears for $149, plus I had a $10 off coupon in Sunday's paper so it was only $139.

DD has been wanting some cowboy boots for quite some time now and we haven't found any. Well, DH and I were walking through a store last week and there were some really cute boots. They were originally $74.00 on sale for $35.00. Well, we got to the check out and they rang up for $24.99!! Yes, I love a good deal!!!
