What was your major in college?

I'm still in college, but my majors are Film and Video Studies and French (Used to be English Literature; I got too tired of dealing with the department and switched.)

I have minors in Communication and Legal Studies.

BS in Religious Education

Halfway through with my MDiv in Theology and Christian Education

I have worked as, and my career goal is to be, a Children's Minister or Family MInister. My undergrad was not as important (as far as what it was in) but my masters from a seminary is... I chose to get something more than a basic Master of Christian Ed and went for the Master of Divinity for numerous reasons. I do need this to serve in the kind of church setting I would like... =)

When I first entered college, my major was hotel management, but with with being a freshman just entering, you don't really get the classes you want and need and I didn't like some courses, so changed my major.
I then majored in early childhood education, and have worked in a preschool before and had other experiences with kids.

BS,Nursing
MS,Nursing, educator track and parent-child clinical focus

I am going to start teaching for UOP, and when i qualify for 50% tuition reduction, I will pick up a MBA. Someday I will break down and get a PhD form OHSU.

Graduate-Clinical Social Work with a Concentration in Trauma and Abuse

I am a LCSW and work with Trauma and Abuse Survivors-so yep I am doing what I went to school for.

I was wondering, what was your major (and minor) in college? And does your career now have anything to do with what you majored in?

Right now I'm a sophomore in college and I've known pretty much since middle school that my major would be mathematics. I've taken 5 math classes already and I'm still loving it and would definitely not consider changing it. I also might consider minoring in computer science.

I know I'm not going into teaching, but I don't really know what's out there in the world of math. I do have this Undergraduate Math Conference to go to tomorrow where I will participate in a competition, and there will also be workshops and speakers who will be speaking about careers in math. So hopefully I can get some ideas then!

So how about everyone else?!

I majored in and received my B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. I was one class shy of also having a minor in Economics. Yes, I do use my degree in my job. I am an Accounting Unit Manager for a large Financial Services Company.

undergrad major English
minor psychology
grad occupational therapy and I am an occupational therapist currently on child care leave so it is related.

I got my BA in Spanish, and every job I have even gotten has been because of that wonderful degree. It pays to speak Spanish in more ways than one! I also have a Master's in early childhood education with a specialization in infants and toddlers which has come in mighty handy.

My major was education with a minor in English. I am licensed in Missouri to teach elementary, and English through high school. I only taught for a few months. Right after I graduated, there was a teacher's strike in Kansas City. I took another job to wait it out and stayed with that job for 30 years. I was a software analyst and then a systems manager.
