I graduated with an elementary teaching degree but my actually major was Psychology with a minor in Sociology.

I feel I use my Psych degree all the time in my 20 years of subbing.........it helps me to understand why I'm crazy enough to have subbed this long!!!:jester:

Do you "use" the knowledge of your major?

My major was in Fine Arts, and yup, I still use it. :)

Many of my classmates found it very difficult to use their degrees when they got out of school. Art is a hard field to break into. Although some are no worse for the wear, I just ran into an old classmate of mine - she was sooooo talented yet never could make a name for herself in the art community. So she became a hair colorist. She works in a very exclusive hair salon on Madison Ave., and she told me she made close to a half a million dollars last year. I think I may have chosen the wrong path!

My sister graduated with a Criminal Justice degree and is getting rich off her Day Care....she never did use her degree.:smooth:

International Relations, with a minor in Romance Languages.

I currently work in the IT Support Department of an Audio Video Retailer.

I have a BA in Psychology. I think now in college you have to sign a statement which says you understand that having just a BA in Psych. will do absolutely nothing for you ;)

Geophysics, and no. Not at this time, anyway. :)

I'm starting my Master's in Instructional Technology: Web track, though, and I know I'll use that. :)

Accountancy -- and though I went on and passed the CPA Exam, I'm now a programmer. But at least I write code for an Accounting software! :teeth:

1.) Nursing - No.
2.) Early Childhood/Elementary Education -- not yet! :p

I don't think I'll ever use the Early Childhood part of my degree, unless the requirements for teaching K - 2 change here in PA, which they are talking about doing (needing EC degree along with EE degree to teach those grades) :)

Degree's in Theater and Communiations

Theater--did not actually get a chance to pursue my love of acting---my mom died while I was in college-- I was on only child--and well lets just say life happens and sometime You have to make choices---I do use my skills everyday as far as my theater training is concerned--I was born and raised in South Philadelphia, but you would never know it because my speech is so perfect---I can speak in a public forum with absolutely no problem, which comes in great when you are prez of the PTA, I am creative which is great when working with my kids

Communications---yes I was a editor for McGraw-Hill and I am now working on a book

I have a degree in Speech and Theatre and English and I've been in publishing, cable and radio for the 25 years I've been out of college.... Yup!

Elementary Education....all the time with my nieces, nephews and DDs. Not as an occupation.

My major was theater, and I do use it. I work at a university as the director of the children's theater program. In addition to directing, I teach children's classes in acting, movement, and playwriting for kids in 1st-12th grades. I love it! I am also the director of the Walton Arts and Ideas Series, an endowed performing arts series which brings 8 professional performances to our campus stage each season.

I majored in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design - now, I'm a graphic designer :)

I only graduated for a two year college. I majored in accounting and until I took a job in the office at the daycare I had never used it. But since I am a bookkeeper I use it now!

Yes and No....

I was half way through school when I felt the call to ministry so my two and a half years in broadcasting/film are used soley for producing home videos of our 6 month old daughter. My actual degree was in religion. I have found that 90% of pastoring is stuff you never learn in school...but you have to have the degree along with continuing education to do what I do, so I guess in that since, I am using it.

International Affairs, with a concentration in International Politics.

I don't use the international part, but I do use a lot of general social science stuff, like research methods and statistics.

Majored in electrical engineering and that is what I've been doing for the last 25 years. Some day I'd like to "retire" from engineering but continue to work in something unrelated, like driving a pontoon boat or working in a park at WDW!

I started in Interior Design and ended up in Special Education. Still teaching after 12 years!

My sister majored in criminal justice then, after graduating, worked for the Yankees for a few years then moved onto the XFL...Hitmen and now works as an ethical coordinator for some non sports related company!

Paralegal Studies with a minor in Real Estate. I have a AB Degree and use both.

I have an Associate's Degree in Computer Programming. I don't work as a programmer, but I use a lot of my programming skills on a daily basis at work and at home.
