What was your first trip like to a Disney Park?

My first trip was in 1993. There was an amazing show called "Splashtacular" at the fountain in Epcot. I had never seen anything like it before. I think that show was short lived but it really amazed me and my ten year old daughter! Does anyone remember that show?

I've gone to WDW almost every year since 1978 and I don't think I ever saw that show. It only ran in 93-94. I finished residency and started working in 93 and we bought our house in spring 94 so it's very possible that we didn't take a trip during the run of this show. I just watched some of the show on Youtube.

First trip was 1996 with my Mom and fiancé. We stayed offsite at a timeshare and only went to Epcot and DTD. But we did visit SeaWorld and KSC
One thing I recall was eating cous cous for the first time ever at Marakesh.

. Edit. 1997 and we were married by then
Oops

Oh yes, HubbDave reminded me. We also went to Sea World on that first trip in 78. With only 1 park and 3 hotels, you could do most everything in a 5-day trip and still have time to do other things.

My first trip to a Disney park was in...drum roll, please! 1976! Bicentennial parade in the Magic Kingdom and everything! I was quite young so I don't remember too much of it.

We stayed at the Contemporary, and I do remember my parents waking up my sister and me so we could watch the Electrical Water Pageant from our room window.

Snow White's Scary Adventures scared the poop out of me. I was also completely not trusting of the gigantic characters, but my little sister absolutely loved them.

This was in peak season, and my parents vowed after that vacation that 1) we were going back as many times as humanly possible and 2) they were taking us out of school to do it. I haven't been to WDW in peak season since.

And guess what? This year I'm doing it - for the first time since I was 6 years old, we're going to WDW in peak season. June 6th - 14th. Think kind thoughts for me.

My first trip was February 1979. I had just turned 2 in December, so I don't remember too much of that trip other than being with my parents and grandparents. We would drive from PA to Daytona for the Daytona races and take a trip over to Orlando for one day. I found pictures from that trip and from what I saw it wasn't busy and the characters were just walking around. I just remember having a good time with my parents and grandparents and that is all that mattered. We would go back every year for one day in February. Over the next years I would remember more and more of the trips there (riding the skyway and my grandmother being scared being that high, spinning the tea cups so fast, riding 20,000 Leagues). The one ride that always did stick in my head was If You Had Wings. The song would get stuck in my head and I would keep singing it over and over until my parents would tell me to stop. We would continue this tradition until I think I was almost in Middle School. Then we would just go every other year. In 1991 and 1993 we got to go twice as my HS band performed at WDW. That was another special time for me as for a little bit of time, we were treated like cast members and we got to see backstage areas. The one memory I have from the 1993 trip was we marched around WS lagoon and it was 90 degrees out and the band was wearing the full heavy uniforms (I was lucky as I was a majorette and had a shorter skirt on), once we were done performing most of my friends changed into shorts and shirts and found the fountain as you are crossing to world showcase and decided to play in it because it was so hot and they needed to cool down.

I have always loved being at the parks, but it was more about who I was with instead of planning every waking momet of the trip. To this day, that is the way I plan my trips. Sure there are schedules, but not to the minute. If we want to see something, we stop and see it, if not, we pass by.

My first trip was back in 1987 about a year after my father died. We stayed offsite (that now crummy Hojo's Enchanted Land on 192 I think) for that trip. I remember seeing Horizons and If You Could Fly sponsored by Delta along with my first trip of many trips on It's a Small World and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The thing I remember most is the time with Mom and feeling like I was in a magical place. We also did it between Christmas and New Years. Something I would never do now.

My first trip to WDW was 2004. It was a joint birthday gift to my husband and I from my mother. She gave the same gift to my brother who took my son as his guest, my son was going into the Air Force later that summer.
We went in early May and stayed at Pop Century. We loved it so much we have been once a year ever since. My favorite attraction was the Haunted Mansion. Least fav was Space Mountain, too much jerking around, I hurt my back. The most exceptional thing on our trip (and every one since then) was how great the chefs were dealing with DH's onion/garlic allergy. He felt so pampered getting special meal choices.
In 2012 we took our son and our new daughter-in-law. They are now expecting their first child April 6. I can't wait to take our grandson. This May I am introducing my step sister to the wonders of Disney World for her 50th birthday.
