What was your FIRST ride in Disney? Good Memories lets talk!

I don't actually remember my first trip to Disney because I was just a baby. I think the first attraction I remember was when I was 4, and it was the original 3-D movie (Magic Journeys). I remember being terrified of the witch and my dad had to take me out of the theater because I started crying. I don't remember anything else from that trip, though. Funny how the "bad" memories can be more lasting than the good ones.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure my very first Disney ride was the horse drawn carriage on Main Street. I seem to remember my dad insisting it was the best way to approach the castle the first time. But I was 3, so I could easily be wrong.

It was Space Mountain and I had no clue what to expect.

But what was so awesome was that Chip and Dale skipped with me all the way there. I think I still have that picture floating somewhere...

My first visit was in 1979 and I was 4yo, so I don't remember my first ride. I'm sure it was likely Dumbo, the Carousel or It's A Small World. Our house burned down on my 6th b-day so my parents have very few pictures of me before then and none of our trip to WDW in 1979.

Thought DW had gone many times before we met, I did not go until we carried our then 4 1/2 year old son. He had his first airplane ride to Orlando and fell asleep in my arms while waiting to ride Dumbo. It was in October and warm, so he fell asleep from all the excitement of the day, but we woke him up in time to enjoy the ride. It was 1997. Anyone remember the Birthday Cake Castle??? That was my first view of it and even though most folks hated it, it holds special memories for me and that little boy, who is now a fine young man.

Hrm, I don't really remember. My first trip was when I was 7 and it was Disneyland. I think it was the Matterhorn? I don't remember.
I do remember It's a Small World and have fond memories of the ride (still try to ride it!)

My first at WDW was Space Mountain during my honeymoon. I don't remember riding SM at Land.
For WDW, the Japan Pavillion is our fondest memory though :)

The greatest memory I have is the first time I rode the monorail threw the contemporary resort.. It was the greatest thing I have ever seen.. I can picture it in my head like it was yesterday I guess that is why it is my favorite ride at WDW.. My family makes fun of me because I will just sit on it and ride from WDW to Epcot and back..

Peter Pan. It's my DH's favorite ride at WDW because of that. :)

Rock n Roller Coaster. I had dreamed of going to Disney World my whole life and didn't get to go till I was 22, and it was a rainy day in Hollywood Studios. I didn't care. That view down Sunset Boulevard and the sheer experience of being in Disney World was amazing to me, and Rock n Roller Coaster blew me away! I'll always love RNR and HS because of this.

Before I was born my mom took my older brother to WDW for a day as a side trip when she was visiting FL. The only thing she remembers is that they rode Dumbo. My brother passed away as a teenager, and I have a son who I named after him. I took my son to WDW in 2013 for his tenth birthday. It was the first time either of us had been there. We rode Dumbo in memory of my brother as our very first ride.

My first time was on a trip with the National Honor Society in junior high school. First ride I remember riding was "If You Had Wings". That was an every trip ride until it was gone. Buzz Lightyear is in it's place now.

My first disney ride was Tower of Terror! My parents pulled my sister and I out of school in grade 7 (we're twins) and took us to WDW in October 1997. Our first park day my dad made us swear we'd ride rides and then following an unofficial guide touring plan took us right over to ToT. It was amazing and I loved how into character all the CMs were. I took my husband to disney for our first real trip other than visiting family and made it his first ever disney ride too! When my sister and I took a girls trip to Disneyland we went to DCA first so that we could make ToT our first DL ride too!

My sister stole my story, lol!

My first trip to DW was at the age of 38 with my DD5, DS9, and DS13. Our first ride was the maiden flight (of the day) of the magic carpets and then 2 more times in a row for DD. We have been back 3 times since and that is always our first ride.

My daughter's first 'big' ride was test track. She didn't like drops or anything fast, but on our last trip (age 9) she decided she was going to broaden her ride choices. My boys talked her into test track and she insisted on riding. I had my doubts that she would like it, but figured at least we're in our own car so she wouldn't affect anyone else. When the car picked up speed and headed around the curve she started yelling "oohhh". I thought she was scared and said "it will be over in a minute." She yelled "I'm shouting for joy!" And thus the madness began. No ride except RNR and EE is too much for her now. I must carry lots of Dramamine to the parks now.

Now when we see or do something we really like we say "I'm shouting for joy."

In 1994, my parents loaded us into the car and we drove from CO to CA. The ride I best remember is Splash Mountain, as I used my savings to get a Brer Bear Shirt that I wore all the time after that.

Not sure what my first ride was. I remember Body Wars and The Backlot Tour with the bee and "Dick Tracy" most though. I was there with my brother and we had two days for the parks so I chose MGM and Epcot.

Edit: Got to love that Comic Strip characters are censored.

Not really sure what my first ride was (I was 9) but I do remember going on the carousel with my grandmother smiling each time we went around because my parents were taking our pictures. However, I don't know if that was my first ride ever, just something I remember. Now the first ride with my DH and then 4 and 2 year old DDs (they are now 13 and 11) was the Winnie the Pooh ride, this was after we played in the little Hundred Acre wood area that they used to have right across from the ride.

If You Had Wings. Amazing ride...they miniaturized you as entered the ride!

I was 25 and my little girl had just turned 3. I didn't grow up in a family that was a "let's go spend money on a vacation" sort and when I married the man of my dreams he made so many of my dreams come true. We were still scratching out a living and he was in the early years of his career but we had frequent flier miles from his job, I worked at a bank in commercial real estate and we'd repossessed a hotel that was in Kissimee and we had a rental car voucher, a limited cash supply and lots of imagination. We bought tickets at the Disney Store using a Magic Kingdom Club card too. Remember those? And off we went! I'd studied "The Unofficial Guide to Disney World With Kids' and i was ready - and then we got off the plane and i had worried my three year old wouldn't like Mickey and be fearful and we were walking down the hall at MCO and Mickey and Minnie were greeting people in the hub. She ripped free of my hand and ran and hurled herself into Minnie's arms and the magic began. That trip was so perfect. She crashed out in strollers while I jumped up and down and waved at Alice in the nighttime parade. We rode "Figment" to her heart's content. Horizons was still open and i got to experience Body Wars. We were there the first week of March and crowds were so light that we were standing in line at DHS and Roger Rabbit came and found her on a bench and danced with her a good 10 minutes because no one else was there. We had so much fun. Seriously So.Much.Fun! We had limited funds so we only had one restaurant in the budget and we pored over the guide and thought '50s PTC" suited us best and we had so much fun. We did it all on such a meager budget and had so much fun. Now years later we've been so blessed to have made many more trips. My kids never really knew "pick one TS" or even staying off property as they grew up. We've been so blessed to have memories in moderate and deluxe resorts and to have had signature dining experiences. I have years to have fallen in love with WDW and i think it's only fitting that our first attraction is now extinct because life changes and so does each experience when we go.

Excuse me for my little love letter above and pontification on the past. Guess I shared one Whale of a Tale and what i meant to say was our first attraction was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and I loved every second and I still smile wistfully when I pass where it used to be.

Dumbo, Early '72, 5 years old...like someone else wrote, the line seemed endless at the time....it's a sentimental fave to this day, many hundreds of trips later :smooth:

oh boy....the first time I went I was 6 and I have a very vague memory of the hotel pool and that is about it. Next trip was in 1994 and we went to Epcot the day we got there. But I can't remember what ride we went on first. I do have a memory of Journey into Imagination and the Living Seas. So probably one of those 2 rides.
