What was your first PC???

First computer we ever had was in the early 1990s... might have been 1990 actually. Anyways, it was a Compaq Presario... I don't remember much else about it. But this screen brings back memories.

That was mine as well. I bought it while I was in college and used to use the 300 baud modem to dial in to the university computer system so I could do my programming assignments. I loved that little machine and I spent hours writing basic and machine code programs for it. Hated the tape drive though

My first PC compatible was the Tandy 1000 TX.

The year was 1983 and it was a Radio Shack TRS-80. No mouse, no disk drive even. I had to store programs on cassette tape. Yes, that's cassette tape like the tapes you used to play in the car. I remember going to Radio Shack and buying games and such on cassette tape. It was hooked up to a 13 inch television for display.

Then, in 1987, I got my first PC. It was an XT and had a whopping 20 meg hard drive. And I had the extra special EGA monitor. At least I had color.

I also remember installing Windows version 1 on that machine with 5.25 floppies. I still had no mouse so it wasn't as user friendly as it is now. I uninstalled it.

I remember, in college, ooohing and aaahing over someone that got their second meg of RAM for their machine. That was a LOT back then.

DH woke up and remembered the name....It was bought in 1986, and it was a Panasonic Jr. Exceutive (or something along those lines.)

It did have 1 disk drive and a ink jet printer. It was a portable model.
