Before you think the lines were out the door it was exactly the opposite. I was very surprised. Took the kids for quick trip before the 5-5-05 events. Didn't arrive until about 11 AM so I thought we would be in trouble as I usually like to get there early. We hit Buzz with only a 20 minute wait and fast passed it first so we walked off and right back on with the fast passes! Next over to Tiki Room as the kids didn't want to do Star Tours (posted time was 7 minutes), Haunted Mansion was a 5 minute wait, Pirates only 3, Small World - 5 minutes, Autotopia less than 15 minutes and the best was Indiana Jones - a 10 minute wait. That was wierd. I have never seen the parks so uncrowded on a Sunday.

Saw lots of 50th stuff up - MaryJo covered many of them with her photos in a previous post. Also looked behind the barrier of the old Submarine ride. It is empty from water and looked strange. I took some photos and if I can figure out how to post them I will do so.

There is tons of the photo exibits up too. They are really neat. I loved looking at them wondering if any of our photos were in there. I received an email a few weeks ago saying we would be notified shortly if the photos were used. Nothing yet so we looked BUT there are millions of photos there. Tooks lots of photos of those too.

Didn't stay for any parades, didn't visit DCA just a quick 5 hour trip but it was great!

Questions let me know.

Wow, sounds like it was your lucky day. ;) Glad you got to enjoy a nice quiet day at the park.

I noticed the same thing. I was coming to Anaheim anyway to go to a skating show at the Pond and I figured that if I was driving that far anyway, I might as well spend some time at DL in the morning/early afternoon. The crowds were non-existent--weird for a Sunday. I'm figuring that they're all waiting until next week/weekend. I got there for opening and walked right onto Buzz twice (got a new high score too).

What I think happened is a combination of a couple of factors.

1. A lot of people are waiting for the 50th anniversary to start before they go
2. Quite a few promotions had an April 28th expiration date
3. There were probably some who read the list of attraction closures and delayed their trip
4. Your family (and mine, we were there on Sunday) got lucky :Pinkbounc

I agree, less than 5 minutes for Small World, Carousel and most the the Bugs land attractions (we have a 3yo). Even Buzz & Autopia were less that 15 minutes at 11am.

It actually seemed more crowed in DCA than DL

Edit: I also got my Buzz high score, but it needs an asterisk as we got stopped for about 4 minutes in one of the rooms while a wheel chair got loaded.

Yep, Sunday was empty. But did any of you stick around for Monday? It was crazy. Not middle of the summer crowded, but much more than I expected for a Monday, especially a few days before the big kick off. However I think many people got word that the parade and fireworks were being previewed.
