What was the longest time you stood in line?

Last year we waited 90 minutes for Mission Space. It is DDs favorite ride, otherwise I never would've waited that long. But then again, we go the first week of April so there are going to be lines, no way around it.

One fateful day we walked into EPCOT 15 minutes after the gates opened, (this was EE, back in the day), by the time we got to TT, 2 minutes later, the line said 30 minutes. I allowed my boys to go, (unattended as I didn't do Test Track at that time), and ONE AND ONE HALF HOURS LATER, they came walking back to where I had been waiting for ONE AND ONE HALF HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WELL, it took me some talking and yes, I hate to say "heated" arguing, and trying to explain that NOW we were WITH the crowd instead of AHEAD of the crowd (this was August) and we'd be standing in lines like this all day long, they finally followed me back out the gate and we headed to Typhoon Lagoon and got there right at opening. After doing Shark Reef as many times in a row as they wanted, and minimal lines on all the slides and a wonderful time in the wave pool, they finally agreed to listen to me WITHOUT arguing in the future!!! :rolleyes2

The next day we went regular entry to Epcot, got there before the gates opened and walked on everything. My motto is that I can't think of a ride at Disney World that's worth waiting more than 30 minutes and that's my max. There's so much else to do!!!

The thing that bothered me the most was being one of those "arguing" families I always feel sorry for!!! :lmao:

An hour for Jungle Cruise, because everyone else in the party wanted to go.....(and yes, that was before FastPass!!). :sad2:

90 minutes for Peter Pan...so not worth it. This was before I was fastpass educated. :headache:

1998 - before fast passes. AK was still a new park. 2 hours for the Safari ride.

50 minutes for BTMRR but we were also waiting for our FP to SM. This was in the afternoon. Usually we go early but we didn't get there that day.

For us that would have been on our last trip. Seventy five (yep thats 75) long leg aching minutes for Soarin! We must have been mad!! Still it meant that we could pretend we were brainy and could easily answer the questions linked to those beautiful pictures whilst standing in the queue - after all wed heard the answers twice before as the line just didnt darn well move!!

So did we! 75 Minutes!
The longest that I remember (may have waited longer before, not sure) But this past summer we waited 75 minutes in line for Soarin' during EMH for EPCOT. We had heard so many good things about the ride as it was new and during the first 5 minutes of the wait we were like: :woohoo: , when we saw the lines ahead of us were longer still, we were like: :confused3 , after about a half an hour we were:  and then by the time we got to the ride which was at midnight almost by the exact second, we were like: :faint:

:teeth:

25 minutes for Dumbo last September. My kids didn't even care if they rode it but I HAD to have a picture,

I think the longest was back in the 70's when my husband waited between 1-1 1/2 hours for Space Mountain. It had just opened. I was just so excited to be at Disney (only the MK back then!) that I didn't care. I didn't ride, but I remember waiting for him and watching all the people and just enjoying the atmosphere. Forward years later, I still do this!!

In November 2001 on the Friday after Thanksgiving we waited 2 1/2 hours just to get through the gates into MGM Studios. Yes we should have turned around and gone back to the hotel but no one was giving any idea of how long it would take to get through the newly implemented security inspections. We never imagined it would be that insane to just get through the gates!!!!!

I may be off on this a little but it seemed like the first time we went to Univeral IOA, we waited in line for SpiderMan for over 2 hours. The ride was great but I don't think I will ever do that again for anything. I have had to wait on a FP to come to time for more than 5 hours but at least then I can still go off and play.

i've never waited for more than 20 minutes but when i went in August the line for Splash Mountain was i believe 180 minutes. i had a wheelchair that day(my asthma doesn't work so well in the heat) so luckily i didn't have to wait in the line i got on and off the ride in like 10 minutes.

Back before fastpass, when I was a kid we would always to go WDW in July. It was not out of the ordinary to wait an hour or two for the big rides. I can remember waiting in the sweltering heat for an hour for BTTMRR- going back and forth in the "cattle" type lines.

Now, my bf and I don't wait in any lines longer than 20 mins.

I've never waited longer then 35 minutes MAX! I know, I'm spoiled. :thumbsup2 Just kidding, I just pick the "value" seasons to go! They're the best, wouldn't trade going then for the world!!!

2 hours in 1983 for "the Land" ride at Epcot. If I had it to do over, I'd rather rub my face in ground glass. ;)

90 mins in 1997 for Alien Encounter. In the August heat with no shade. It was that trip and that line that made me vow I will NEVER go to WDW in Aug again and I've held that promise. I just can't take the heat. :headache:

90 mins Sourin' - Fast Passes had been sold out. But unlike the two rides above... it was worth the wait... just once. Now it's fast pass or no soarin.

over 60 mins waiting for a bus to MK at POR two nights in a row last Nov. Ugh!

Before the invention of the Fastpass, I remember waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes for Splash Mountain.

We waited 90 minutes (well, it said 90, but it was more like 75) for Soarin on January 14th of this year. Anyone who was there at the time should know why. It was FREEZING cold and windy as heck outside and I was underdressed. I was very happy to spend my time warm and toasty in line!

As a kid, I think we waited over an hour for Space Mtn. That was way back in 1981, when there was just the MK. Plus, we went during the crowded summer time. We didn't know any better.

We went that same year. I remember the lines being much longer though. What I remember most is that darn Snow White ride. It broke down and we were about 5th party in line. All that wait for nothing.

This thread is cracking me up. We might need to cross reference it to the "you might be a Disney addict if..." thread.
The casual Disney vistors I talk to tell many, many stories of many, many hour long plus waits. Pretty much everyone in this thread that had a wait time longer than 25 minutes felt that they had to explain why on earth they would do such a thing. :lmao:
Knowledge truly is power, I'm so glad I found the Dis before my recent trip. i'd much rather be in the "you waited how long?!?" group. :teeth:

i think the longest wait was the indy speedway my brother wanted to do it - almost an hour.
