What Was The Last Book You Read?

I am currently reading a book called Angry Housewives Eating Bon-Bons (I loved the title and had to buy the book!). It is about 5 women who form a book club and a friendship. It starts out n 1968 and goes all the way to the present. I am realy enjoying it!

I loved this book. Actually, I treasure it. Its one that has made it to my favorite of all time lists. :) I love Lorna Landvik's books - they are like a hot cup of cocoa on a cold winter's day -- so inviting and warm. :)

I just finished Sam's Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson. I thought it was good, but not great. Definitely not as good as Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas.

I just finished Sam's Letters to Jennifer too. ITA JetMom. It was not as good as Suzanne's Diary.
I loved Angry Houswives, it is one of my all time favs.

Right now I am reading Anne Frasier's "Play Dead", so far it is very good, suspenseful and a quick read.

I, too, just finished The Notebook . It was a wonderful story...I couldn't put it down! I finished it pretty quickly and then passed it on to my Mom, who finished it on a road trip and passed it on to my aunt! My Mom also has gone to see the movie...she said that it was a tear jerker and for the most part followed the book pretty well.

I am now back to reading LOTR: Return of the King for the second time. I read all the books before the movies came out and I loved the style JRR Tolkein wrote in that I just couldn't read anything else for a time. After reading the LOTR series, I read The Hobbit , finished that and now I am going through ROTK again! I so love these books!!

I am also waiting...I'm not holding my breath, cause it doesn't come out until next year!...for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE JK Rowling!!

Anyways...keep reading everyone!

Memoirs of a Geisha

My parents just sold their home and I inherited my Mom's book collection so I have a TON of reading material. I told my Mom to get familiar with the place where you borrow a book and then return it at no charge!! They are moving into a new condo and space will be at a premium. I have a feeling she will still buy books and give them to me when she is done. I then donate them to my middle school or high school library. I only keep books I truly love.

Just finished "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", written by Eric Burdon (Lead singer of The Animals).

What a life...

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.
Now I'm reading Where The Heart Is by Billie Letts. :D

I just finished The Beach House by James Patterson. I got it for Christmas 2002 and I just got around to it in the last few weeks. It was decent but I am not sure if I will seek out more of his books either.

I am actually almost out of reading material. I need to do some research and order from Amazon so this thread is great for me to find some new material. :)

I read Stephen King's "The Dead Zone." It was okay, but I wasn't into the ending. I decided to try the book since I liked the TV series. Turns out they are nothing alike! Perhaps I'd have liked the book more if I read it first (it's more tragic).

Just finished A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Currently reading Hot Ice by Nora Roberts and To the Nines by Janet Evanovich. Have The Three Junes waiting in the wings

Song of Susannah by Stephen King. Episode # 6 of his "Dark Tower" series.

He actually becomes a character in his own book. Kinda' wierd.

I've just finished re-reading FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON. It's not light reading. I've just started the biography on John Boyd.

Just finished "A Royal Duty" by Paul Burrell, Diana's butler. Not sure what to make of him. Would like to read Andrew Morton's newest at some point in time and compare.

Has anyone read "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella and the sequels? If you want to laugh, that's the ticket.

The critics panned Helen Fielding's latest, too. Unfortunate as Bridget Jones was great!

I just finished Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is still in print? I loved that book when I was younger.

Last one was a Mills & Boon, but I'm currently reading The Lives of Danielle Steel

Recently finished -The Time Traveler's Wife- by Audrey Niffenegger. I enjoyed it, once I got used to Henry's jumping back and forth in time. :)

I've just started -Red Dirt (growing up Okie) - by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz. An autobiographical memoir dealing with growing up poor during the Dust Bowl era, in rural Oklahoma.
