What Was The FIRST On-Site Resort You Stayed At?

Fort Wilderness, 1978. What a blast! I miss River Country!

We just got back from our first ever visit to the World...we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn...it was FABULOUS and we both want to stay there again!!!

1989.... Caribbean Beach (with my now ex, though)

1994..... Port Orleans (with DH now)

Never stayed off site.

Shades of Green--now only available to members of the military and their dependants (not sure Active duty or not).

Fort Wilderness Cabins 1989

Caribbean Beach Resort-1996
before that...off site! :( Never again!

Dixie Landings in 1993. If I recall correctly, we were in Alligator Bayou building 14 or 15, just around the corner from the Cotton Mill. It was the most wonderful vacation and we haven't stayed offsite since. At least not when it is our choice where to stay.

I recall seeing the qiosks for the Disney Vacation Club while at Dixie Landings. I remember that they had IBM ThinkPad notebook computers. I didn't take time to stop and talk with them, but we ended up purchasing DVC just 2 years later.

I would love to return to that resort someday. We had ressies there last April when our kids were at WDW with their marching band, but we cancelled and stayed offsite with the band. Too bad. It would have been nice to go back to our roots.
