What Was The FIRST On-Site Resort You Stayed At?

First on site was All Star Sports - Baseball. We had taken many trips prior and stayed off-site. This hooked me for on-site, but we have stayed deluxe the ten trips since that stay.

The Dutch Inn (Now the Grosvenor) It was considered on site back then as you got all the Disney Amenities. Official onsite was the Fort Wilderness Cabins. 1993 :sunny:

We stayed in our tent camper at Fort Wilderness on the first trip in 1982. The first actual Disney building we slept in was one of those villas at the Disney Village Resort in 1983.

Dixie Landings (now Port Orleans Riverside) in 1993 on our honeymoon!

All Star Movies in 2001. I've actually stayed in all 3 all star resorts and Pop Century :teeth:

In 1996 - All Star Music
2001 - Wilderness Lodge - bought into DVC that trip
2002 - PO/FQ (unplanned WDW trip)
2004 - 1st trip "home" VWL, CB (hurricane damaged MILs house)
2005 - VWL, BCV

I stayed in the one of the hotels on Plaza Boulevard back in the '80's, way before my stay in AKL.

The Viscount, now called Best Western, LBV.

1976 stayed at the Howard Johnsons in what is now the Downtown Disney area.

1977 stayed at the Polynesian.

Many, many visits since!

Split stay at the Grand Floridian and Contemporary when I was in first grade of elementary school.

Our first on-property resort was CSR. Then, 3 years later, POFQ. Tomorrow, we'll be at Pop. January 2007, we want to try either BC or BW. Anyone have any DVC points to rent? :goodvibes

Caribbean Beach - 1997 on our honeymoon. I had been to Disney several times before, but always stayed with family that lived in Kissimmee.

1998 DH and I went back for our 1 year anniversary & stayed at the "brand new" Coronado Springs!

And we keep going back time after time!!! (but as you see in my siggie...we stay DVC now! ;))

Our first was the Poly. We were all less than impressed.

Our favorite so far has been AKL. I would so love to go back there again, if I could find the right deal. I refuse to pay over $200 a night for any hotel in Orlando (NYC, maybe, Orlando....no!)

Since we lived in New Mexico, we used to go to Disneyland a lot when dd was little and stay onsite there--this was when I was married to my ex.

Then, in 2000, DH took dd and I to WDW and we stayed at AsMo. It was perfect because dd was about 10 and she adored it.

Now we stay at the Dolphin when we go because of the great gov't rate and we love the hotel.

The Dolphin in 2004~I loved it!!!

The Poly...I don't know the exact year, but somewhere between 1977-1980.
