What was the item you purchased either on the ship or CC that you were glad you did. Leaving on Sunday for the Wonder, I just "wondering" what I should be on the look out for............. shopping is one of my favorite hobbies!:flower:

Our family bought a propellor clock and my mom has it by her computer and lookes at it every day. My favorite thing is a mickey captin Christmas ornament and I look at it every day Because we left it out all year.

I second the propeller clock...We have it on top of our entertainment center, and everytime I look at it, I think of all the wonderful memories!!!!

One thing that I got, and was glad that I did was a beach cover up from CC. I saw it and liked it, but didn't want to get it at first, but the DH made me go back and buy it because he knew I really liked it and would use it. He was right, I wear it when I go swimming and used it a lot when we were at the beach earlier this year!

I second the Christmas ornament. We try to get one whenever we travel. Then, at Christmas when we put up our tree, we always remember our wonderful, er magical, vacations we take! We are accumulating quite a collection! Before you know it, we'll need 2 trees!!
Aside from that, I have a DCL coffee mug that I drink tea from every day. DH and I went for our 8th and 10th anniversarys. On our 8th, friends gave us a pair of DCL wine glasses that we use once or twice a week (thanks Pittcrew), and DH gave me a pair of ship slippers. Love those, but can only wear them in the winter! For 10th anniversary, another friend gave us one of the matted prints of our trip route. Something simple and relatively inexpensive, but it meant the world to us (thanks Khakismum). DH gave me on that trip a stainless mickey bar shaker and wine stopper. GOTTA love those! :teeth:
All that said, I think the thing that I purchased for myself that I loved the most was the scrapbook kit. I love having my DCL pics in a DCL book. Even if you don't scrap, you can get a photo album.
Lots of stuff to ponder!!!

Me too!! :flower: My sisters surprised me and bought me one our our last cruise! Everytime I look at it, I smile! :teeth:
I also love my Christmas ornaments!

Does "buying" my next cruise while on board count? :cheer2: :cheer2:

The pewter colored Mickey picture frame which I use to display our picture from formal night. And the navy and white striped beach bag.

A black "folding" tote bag. I think it was $16. It's great for traveling since it fits easily into your suitcase and then you have a roomy tote to carry back all your souveniers.

FYI....you can find the properller clock at a few sites online....it is designed by Howard Miller and runs about $40 bucks onboard (if I can remember correctly)....the websites have it for a bit cheaper. At one time one site was offering it for $19.99 but I have not seen that price in awhile!!!

And at this site it is only $29.99.....

I second the DCL slippers. They are very cushy and remind me of our cruise every time I wear them. Plus, they were only $20 (March '04).

I LOVE my navy and white striped beach bag! I've been using it all summer. :sunny:

I got a Logo beach towel in the shop and I use it all summer at the pool. I love it and love that it reminds me of my cruise.

A few years ago I got one of those hand-held fans with a squirt bottle attached to it. It was definitely the best thing I bought onboard. Living without air conditioning in California, this has been a life saver. Plus its super fun in water fights. I use it daily.

As for sentimental value, it always reminds me that I've cruised the Magic back when it did the 4 day cruises (it was the land/sea cruise) and going to DisneyWorld.

Like others, I love my navy and white stripe beach bag and towels...but I really love my poster of the Magic, which I had framed at Michael's when I got home. It is so great to look at and remember our cruise!

I bought one of the Propeller clocks and had it signed by Captain John

Have it on top of my TV and love it.

The Propeller clocks are $39.95 onboard - with no tax added

I also bought one of the models of the ship and have that on top of my TV also - had captain sign the ship also

I love looking at them every day

Plush Mickey and Minnie in their sailor suits ( $13 each). They sit on either side of my monitor and I can write on the DIS boards and look at them too.

Two, yes two, of the silver and black photo albums ($16 each) that hold 200 photos. I almost filled up both of them from my 6/26 4-night Wonder cruise.
They are very classy looking. I did NOT like the DCL 2005 line of scrapbooks and photo books. I have one of the silver albums from WDW too.

A cube of sticky notes with the characters and ship around the sides.

The glass "ship" Christmas ornament ($20).

A key chain for $7. It has a dangling DCL Mickey, Minnie, and ship.

A hot pink t-shirt from She Sells. It has the bright orange and green logos front and back.

I also got a "nearly matching" beach towel from She Sells. The background of it is orange. It's all bright and I love it.

DD11 got a DCL logo one there that was white with center logo in navy and red. I tried to discourage it, but nothing doing. She should have waited and bought the one in Mickey's Mates. It had the ship, sky full of clouds, etc. Just gorgeous, but the beach towel budget had already been exhausted.
There's always "next time".

Melanie

We try to always get something signed by the Captain when onboard. This time it was the captains Hat (silent auction). Last time it was the Wedgewood plates that had the ship on the front.

My husband got a really nice muscle shirt ~ it is navy blue with the Magic on the front and the stars are shaped like MM ears. I wish I had bought the matching t-shirt for myself. My sister-in-law got a beautiful bathing suit wrap it a variety of blues with MM heads all over it. I wish I had bought that too. Myself ~ I love my DCL towel.
My favourite thing to look at is our family photo from formal night that is displayed on our mantel. Brings back great memories.

both trips (magic and wonder) we bought the poster of the ship and had the captain autograph. got poster frames at michaels (when they have 40% off coupons). these serve as wonderful art and remind of our vacations on a daily basis. on a more personal basis-elemis facial scrub from the spa. one of the best i've ever used and a small bottle lasts a long time. it's best to check with the staff and ask which day they will be offering a sale (usualy buy one get one at half off). but don't hesitate thinking you can buy when you get home-only available at very limited (for the most part cruise ship) locations and on-line (at about the same price).
