I am constantly hearing about The Adventurers Club, but unfortunately never had the opportunity to experience it.

I watched this video on YouTube and it looks great. With so much going on im sure it was a different experience every time you went. Was it a bar or restaurant? Was it a gift shop? There must have been some way to spend money in there!

IMHO the best adult entertainment at WDW. Tons of character improv, audience participation, 'mini-shows' throughout the night. I really miss it!!

It's an Adventurer's Life for Me!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

I'm sure glad I got to enjoy it once! I even took my DS 13 at the time for the first "show", there were other families with kids too. It's a real shame it's gone:confused3

It was a cool 1850's British Explorers Society club-house, where actors mixed with the folks and told tall tales.
Then the the second phase was a stage show with great actors and a fantastic theater.

Here's a few photos of the odds and ends in the bar...

I asked my wife "how to describe the Adventurer's Club?"

She said "fun".

Marching along,
we're adventurers.
Singing a song,
we're adventurer's.
Up or down,
NorthSouthEast or West,
An Adventurer's life is best

I think those are the words.

Been too long, could use a monkey nut.

It's definitely hard to describe Adventurer's Club but it was so much fun! We've gone to WDW in January a few times and since parks close early, we would always spend a lot of time here. We loved it because it was interactive, and was different every time. You never knew what kind of show you'd see. We would easily spend hours here every night.

I have to second the it was the best adult entertainment venue disney world had. I still don't get what they were thinking when they closed it. Especially since they did not replace it with anything.

Tomorrow night is the second annual Adventurers Club "Congaloosh" reunion to keep the spirit of adventure alive!

Interesting video. Thanks for that! I just emerged from 2 hours lost on YouTube, reliving just a bit of the unique entertainment that was The Adventurer's Club.

*sniff*

(((HUGS))) to my fellow Adventurers!

I really can't believe this didn't make money for WDW...

We never missed it when visiting WDW... Even brought the Pre-Teens when they were old enough... (DD's "into" Drama now...go figure)

Was a GREAT Comedy show and Improv....

Would almost invest in an option to bring it back... LOVED it so much....

Kongaloosh !

Hugs,
Mary

Last week we were strolling through the area and saw a man dressed in his adventurer gear outside the club. He was hanging out talking to people. Still there a couple hours later talking to different people. Is he an adventurer without a home? Or just some random groupie hanging out?

My parents loved the Adventurers Club, but, sadly, I never went in. I was a tad too young to really enjoy Pleasure Island...and, going to these clubs with the parents never seemed as much fun as strolling Downtown Disney with my brother. We spent most of our time in Virgin Records when we were down that way.

However, the folks loved that particular club. My Dad still tells his friends about it. What exactly happened to Pleasure Island? I guess I kind of lost track.

The Adventurer's Club was the single best club/entertainment venue Disney has ever had. Its closing is my single biggest Disney-related disappointment ever.

It sounds like you may have encountered the infamous "Right Guard" on the eve of the 2nd anniversary of the club closing. You may be able to find a photo of him through a google search.

I miss the adventures club so much! It was a bar for people who don't like clubs, if that makes sense. For those of us who don't dance, I guess you could say.

What was Disney thinking? It too is my single biggest Disney disappointment, by far. That and the Comedy Warehouse were two great places to spend an evening after the hustle and bustle of park hopping. The characters in the AC were so unique, so entertaining, so engaging. It was such a unique experience that you can't get anywhere else. Now, when we go to Disney, especially when the parks close early, there is this huge void. I so miss the CW and the AC...may one or both be resurrected...but after this much time has passed, I think they are both gone for good.

My boyfriend and I went to AC on our first date (it was the weekend it closed). I wasn't much of an "adventurer", but he was.

If you keep your eyes peeled thorughout the parks, you will come across some of the actors that worked there. Most of them are still with the company if you can find them! I know we've past a few and he comments that "that was the maid from the adventure's club" or something like that. We've seen them around.

I agree with everyone...I miss it so much...I even had the "pleasure" once of being on stage in the "library"...OMG..that was ugly I tell ya...but what a hoot of a place...it was one of those do not miss...

Disney..if you EVER listen to your patrons..do it now...BRING BACK THE ADVENTURERS CLUB!!!
