We just got gifts in the mail from my aunt in Florida. She sent my 3 & 6 year olds each a HARMONICA! OMG! I have a headache already!

Just remember that they have proven that music helps kids reach their full potential and actually strengthens connections in the brain that are used for math, etc.. You aunt is just trying to give them a head start!

Of course I am that kind of aunt myself. I am planning on getting my little niece this percussion set that we got DS for his birthday. Tambourine, maraccas and a rainstick designed for pint-sized kids! DS loves it and I am sure it will make my sister love me all the more!

Payback is sweet.

My DS was given this awful, loud battery operated guitar for his 2/3rd birthday. I swore, one day I'd get even and return it to the gift giver. Years go by and low and behold, the original gift giver has a daughter and we get invited to the party. Along with a new gift, guess what else we brought?? Fresh batteries and all!!

I am so sorry. I don't mean to laugh, but the picture gave me a chuckle. I can just imagine your boys dancing around with excitement at the fact that a package came in the mail. Then the look of horror that crosses your face when you see that she has sent them harmonicas.

I think they do it on purpose! My MIL always bought my DD the noisiest toys available. DD would open the gift, I'd roll my eyes and MIL would snicker.
