What was Disney thinking??!

What a surprise another I hate stitch thread... If you dont like it dont go on it. I hate Its A Small World but you dont see me posting threads about it.

Simply said If you dont like it dont go on it.

Kids like it. :confused3

Not my kid. He was 5.5 and soooooo eager to see this attraction. We did pswap and I waited w/ his ds age 2.5 who was SO bummed she could only do the preshows and was ushered out for the final "encounter".

Well big bro came out w/ Dad and was totally unimpressed. He didn't want to go back and see it again w/ me. Instead we helped save the universe w/ Buzz!!!

He remembers the stinky smell the most and keeps telling dsIS (now that she's tall enough to go next trip) that she can go w/ Me...he still doesn't want to waste time seeing it again.

Both of my kids are HUGE Stitch fans...it's amazing he thought so little of it.

How are you supposed to know you don't like it until you've gone on it? :confused3

Stitch's Great Escape was not nor is my favorite ride at WDW and it is an attraction we would only do once, but I don't think it was the worst ride I've been on. Personally, I found the Indy Speedway much worse...just wasn't fun and gave me a lasting headache the rest of the day...ANYWAY...

Some kids really do enjoy this attraction so I don't think Disney was completely wrong in making this...it is just an attraction targeted for the younger age group is all.

Our whole family (12, 17, 20)agreed - Stitch was the lamest/boring/waste of time - no wonder the line outside was only a 5 minute wait.

wow...guess im one of the few who actually loves the Stitch ride. I thought it was cute and clever. ALien enocounter (even though i never went on it...scared me to much to just look at it) looked like it shouldnt be placed in disney. I mean there was no cute disney animal, disney princess, disney villain or any of them. Im not saying that it wasnt a good ride but it was just misplaced. It should be somewhere like MGM where movies are actually rides. I thought Stitch was a good version of alien enocounter. Its just a scaled down version of the AE and much more kid friendly. Oh well i guess will see what happens. Personally though i love it.

I agree that SGA is not the greatest ride, but my DS8 loves it. I am usually good for one time per trip, but my DH will go on it multiple times with him. Its too bad Disney couldn't have done a better job for true Stitch loves like my DS, but to him it really dosen't matter.
Also, I appreciate everyone's opinion about Stitch, but for those of you who hate him, I want to give my family's outlook. MY DS is adopted and he truly identifies with the "adoption" of Stitch. Also, my DS has been fairly wild (in a charming way :goodvibes ) for most of his young life. He's actually a little like Stitch - wild and crazy, but also loving, kind, and heroic. We just can't help but love Stitch - I guess we all appreciate his underlying good nature. As far as being a bad influence, IMHO there are so many other aspects of Disney productions that are much more questionable. I would love to see more Disney shows/movies where the parents are both alive, and are actually intelligent and loving! How about Nemo's Mom? That was a little scary for small kids! (I'll step off my soapbox now!)

I guess my comment was more directed to everyone who creates Stitch bashing threads. If youve ridden it and dont like it dont ride again. I dont see the point of posting a bashing thread... Then again i guess i could always choose not to read the thread :teeth:

WHAT! Who could hate It's A Small World?? And i love malstrom! But i do agree that Stitch is not on my must-see list. I don't think it's that bad, though. Remember, Walt Disney World is not there just to entertain adults, so dont get angry just because you do not like a particular ride. Some kids like it, some don't. If you don't like it, move on to the next attraction. Don't come onto DisBoards and start yet another "I HATE STITCH" thread that only says exactly what the last one said. I'm sick of seeing all of this negativity. :sad2:

So very well said! God luck At the Half Marathon :cheer2:

That would have been far better! -- but actually, when compared to SGE -- having a toilet plunger stuck to one's head while being given shock therapy would be an improvement!

I've actually been on that ride -- it's awesome!!!

I've actually been on that ride -- and it actually sucked big time. IMHO it's the cheapest, least themed, most diveragent to the character "attraction" on property. We can agree to have a serious disagreement on this. It does seem however -- simply by reading thur the 8 +/- pages of responses to this thread that the majority of fans are dissappointed in SGE....and rightfully so!

I was actually joking...I was refering to the toilet plunger on the head ride -- no need to force me into a minority -- I was just having fun

My apologies for misunderstand your tenor 88!

I have 5 words. Chili dog gas equals NASTY!

Thankfully I had heard it was bad (didn't realize how bad) so we tried it because it didn't have a wait and we wanted to escape the rain. In hindsight, I would have prefered the rain - more refreshing and smells better.

I don't think the ride is that bad. I do think that it might be a little too intense and scary for younger kids. I do however, think the chili dog part of the ride that smells up the entire area should be removed. Luckily, I read about it on the DIS so I knew I needed to plug my nose. I heard lots of gagging around me during that part of the attraction.
