What was Disney thinking??!

We did not care for it either. I do not think we will visit it on this trip. ;)

Maybe that's why not too many of you like it... You think it was supposed to be a "ride." LOL!

Our family LOVES the Stitch attraction! The Stitch animatronic is quite impressive. And if you've seen the movie, then you really shouldn't have any trouble following the plot. Stitch is transported in, figures out how to disable the containment system, and escapes.

I completely agree. I like to experience Stitch when we're at MK just to marvel at the animatronic Stitch. IMO, it's one of Disney's best. DS10, DS6 and I all are huge Stitch fans.

I know, right?!?! Not even close to a 'ride'.

All 4 of my group (2 adults, 2 boys) thought this was the most stupidest attraction at Disney ever...thank goodness we didn't wait very long for it...

lots of small children were screaming when the lights went out...it clearly states that parts of the show were very dark....duuuuhhhh (in other words...young kids that don't like the dark...won't enjoy this part...)

I haven't been on Stitch, and we were thinking of riding it if the line is short (because we want to check out what all the controversy is about...) How boring is it compared to say...Snow White's Scary Adventure? As two adults when we rode it when we went for a day a few years ago, we thought that ride was exceptionally lame and (I may get flamed for this) the technology seemed like something from a carnival....is Stitch better? Is the technology better and is it more exciting?

Kids like it. :confused3

I agree here. We went on this last summer, with 5 kids... 5, 5, 5, 9 and 11. The one 5 year old hated it, cried, but the other kids loved it. As a matter of fact, it was brought up yesterday at my DD's birthday party and all the kids said they loved it.

I personally think it is slow and boring really, but to say it is horrible or along those lines, wouldn't be my feelings. I think the Indy Speedway is the biggest waste of time and space!

We returned from a short trip on Monday and I still haven't gotten over how terrible the Stitch attraction is. Believe me when I say I love just about everything at Disney. But this is the worst thing I've seen at any park. And shame on me for not doing my homework, but I figured "how bad could it be?" Boy, was I wrong. I hated the Alien Encounter attraction and this one is even worse. I couldn't believe that it was the same inside as AE was. Does anyone actually like this attraction? :confused3

Totally agree-could of kicked myself waiting for 45 minutes for this rubbish!
Very disappointing!!!

You poor thing -- you waited 45 minutes for that "attraction". At least our wait was only about 5 minutes, but the pre-show malfunctioned and we had to stand through that twice! :furious: At that point, the four of us were trying to figure out if we could escape through the exit door. Wish we had. :sad2:

Maybe part of our problem with the attraction is that we are not familiar with Stitch. My kids are 16 and 19, so we're kind of out of the loop with the newer Disney characters. But, I'll tell you one thing, my kids would probably sit through Hall of Presidents again before going on that ride (excuse me, attraction) and that's saying a lot for them.

Okay not trying to get flamed :furious: but I am not sure what everyone was expecting with STITCH? I think they took a very undisney attraction AE and put in a very friendly disney attraction. True it is still on the same idea of AE but I thought it was cute. The Stitch in the middle looks real :stitch: I love when he ruffles your hair and asks to be your friend. Not every attraction in disney is going to be a coaster or god forbid another boring dark ride they have been done to death. Its not the worst thing I have ever done at disney (malstrom and Its a small world) and not the best but I think and let me state that again I think its's not bad :confused3

WHAT! Who could hate It's A Small World?? And i love malstrom! But i do agree that Stitch is not on my must-see list. I don't think it's that bad, though. Remember, Walt Disney World is not there just to entertain adults, so dont get angry just because you do not like a particular ride. Some kids like it, some don't. If you don't like it, move on to the next attraction. Don't come onto DisBoards and start yet another "I HATE STITCH" thread that only says exactly what the last one said. I'm sick of seeing all of this negativity. :sad2:

I thought it was cute. If the line is over 10 minutes, I would not ride it, because it's not worth the wait, but if the line is short, we go on it. It's not supposed to be a thrill attraction, it's meant to be like an Alien Encounter Jr. I agree Disney could have done better, a lot better, but they didn't want to tear down the whole structure, and completly rebuild. Younger kids like it, and that's who it was made for, younger kids. Not all kids like it, but a fair amount do. But I thought it was cute, and the animatronic Stitch is really cool.

Ok take a deep breath...breathe in, breathe out. It'll be ok. You knwo the reality of these boards, someone will always not like something. It's ok...we're all of diverse opinions and it's good to share them because it gives a well rounded view. :thumbsup2

So true. We all love Disney here or else we wouldn't be spending so much time on these boards. ;) There are other rides/attractions that I don't enjoy, but understand how others would. This one, though, I just didn't get it. :sad2:

Hey

I much preferred Alien Encounter to Stitch's Great Escape, the group I go with and myself are really not that bothered about going on it again, for me it seems to make less of an impact because all really that was changed was the character, theres really not a lot of thought gone into it and it shows. Like other people have said they could have done something a lot better in its place, but i guess it all comes down to doing things the cheapest way, which just seems a shame. :sad2:

I actually like it... and my daughter loves it!! For some reason I like it better than what was there before.. I thought the Alien one was too scary.. I think Im just getting too old.. :rotfl:

I thought this exact quote when Disney released 'The Wild'. I am a die- hard Disney fan but 'Madagascar' was far better.

I loved Skippy and have several stuffies and beanies. Is he still in the preshow?

Its a far different pre-show.

"Sir" (voiced by Tim Curry) is gone, replaced by a timid robot cop (voiced by comic actor Richard Kind.)
Richard Kind is also the voice of the "Van" who won't ask for directions in the new Disney•Pixar film, CARS.

But Skippy is still there!

He is never CALLED "Skippy" in the dialogue, but its still our fuzzy friend.
:thumbsup2
