I want to know if I should get get a 100% cotton or the 50/50 blend shirt.

I am actually having someone draw on the shirt itself. My son's art teacher makes comic books and did nice shirts for the chess club last year. He is willing to do a design for me. I was going to buy the 50/50 one as that is what the chess club shirts were on.
It does hold up well in the wash. I had to iron it to heat set it prior to using.

Since this won't be a transfer, does it make a difference? (Although the designs on here are very nice, I don't feel up to the challenge of trying to figure out how to print it)

I am planning on using this shirt for autographs instead of having an autograph book.

please, somebody have an answer?
It seems like people say to get the 100% cotton, but I haven't figured out why.

I would check the pens that you are planning on using for the drawing/autographs and see if they have any recommendations. I know that most tie dye kits recommend a 100% cotton shirt because the natural fibers hold the dye better. Generally, 100% cotton is better for things like that, but if you have no problems with the 50/50 that you already have, that may be fine, too.
