We would love, love, love the timeshare cruiseship idea. So far we haven't done a Disney cruise because we can't justify the extra cost and we're very happy with Royal Caribbean. (I, and more recently, we, have done other lines, but for us, Royal Caribbean has the right mix of children's activities, great routes, decent food, interesting ship, and reasonable price.) The point cost for cruising is high enough that we haven't done it so far, but having reasonable DVC point cost on a ship would more than make it worth our time. We would definitely buy cruise ship points for annual cruises if they were available and the price wasn't too outrageous.

I also voted for Grand Floridian DVC... that would be my first choice for another location at WDW. The Poly would be my second, so I also gave it a vote. We'll probably add on at whichever of those is built next.

I voted for (in order of preference):

A Caribbean island

Grand Floridian

Polynesian

The Cape Cod choice blew my mind. I had never considered that but would enjoy it since we live very close.

My preference in order would be:

1) Grand Floridian. For my tastes, the perfect resort. Would definitely buy!
2) DVC Cruise Ship. We love to cruise. Would strongly consider buying.
3) Cape Cod. Reasons stated above. Would consider buying, if not, would definitely stay often

I voted for castaway cay, but after thinking about it the MF's their would probably be outragous, so my next favorite would be the grand floridian. the GF has always been our favorite resort.

They could legally get cheaper non-US labor there which may help quite a bit,
but supply, labor and owner transportation may be a nightmare, and hurricane damage may be too cost prohibitive..

I absolutely love Vero Beach, but my top request would definately be another ocean side resort with the Gulf side/panhandle as my top desire. Sandy beaches, western sunsets combined with DVC magic would be heaven!

I totally agree.

A few years ago HGTV gave away a beautiful $1M house in Mexico Beach, Florida. I think that is close to Apalachicola (Sp?). Anyway, it seemed completely isolated with a very natural setting. Perfect.

So much of the gulf coast is over developed and imho, ugly. There are many, many plain high rise buildings all clustered together. :confused3

Plus, the panhandle is only 3 hours from my house!!!

yea but ugly building sell for cheap. Got one several years ago - now have used it twice and my nephew once - otherwise traded it and it trades well.

I guess that is good to know, but that is not what I want out of a gulf coast DVC. I want Vero, or what I think Vero looks like on the Gulf Coast.

I've never been to Vero, but it does look calm and natural from the pictures. I would be so disappointed if I got there and development was all around. I'm ok with the amount of development at HHI's beach. I wouldn't want anything closer or more crowded. It just wouldn't be Disney.

Hmmm, oddly, I'll make an exception for Hawaii.

I would sell my right kidney (ok - in all fairness it is the "bad" one) for 200 points at a DVC resort at the Poly!!!!

I voted for the cruise ship plan, or a Caribbean Island. I wish hotel development in the area of WDW would just stop until they have a way to spread out the crowds better (like some more parks, improved traffic flow in the existing parks, other attractions, etc.). Not sure if that applies to the other parks -- maybe more DVC space at DLR would be good?

It only let me vote for the Poly 1 time!!!

I thought we could vote more than once!!! ;)

Poly all the way, but also cast a vote for new DVC at WDW.

DVC resorts depend on people picking them as an HR to pay for upkeep of the resort. I can not even phathom how much MFs would be for a boat. Also, boats are quite large. Would there be enough DVCers wanting to cruise to keep occupancy up?

It would be nice...but wouldn't it very expensive to get there? Would there be an aiport?

I voted Poly, Caribbean island (not picky, something lush and tropical), and other. I'm thinking New Mexico- down south towards Carlsbad, but not too close to Roswell, because that whole alien thing really freaked our big kids out when we were there.

I've also seen some beautiful pictures of resorts in Malaysia, but we could never afford to travel there, no matter how much I'd like to go there.

I don't know, how about a Stitch theme near Roswell! :rotfl2:
