This may have been asked before...but when one wants to go and get a carbonated beverage from a machine what is that machine called?????

down south where I grew up it almost always is called a Coke machine despite what the machine actually had advertised on it say Pepsi....it was always a Coke machine

We call them 'pop machines'. When we use the term 'vending machine', it is in reference to a machine that sells snacks, gum, candy etc...wierd ones, we are.

yeah, but down south they call every soda a Coke regardless of what brand it is, right?

here they'll call it pop machine, soda machine, vending machine.

I wonder why there is such a regional difference...its all the same thing. I was just curious. I work with a guy who says Pop and it just sounds so funny to me.

We just call them either "soda machine" or "I'm gonna get a soda from the machine, you want one" The latter is said with a heavy NYC accent. LOL...

LOL...so true..My family is from Alabama and we always called it "Coke"

"we only have Pepsi"
