down south where I grew up it almost always is called a Coke machine despite what the machine actually had advertised on it say Pepsi....it was always a Coke machine
We call them 'pop machines'. When we use the term 'vending machine', it is in reference to a machine that sells snacks, gum, candy etc...wierd ones, we are.

I wonder why there is such a regional difference...its all the same thing. I was just curious. I work with a guy who says Pop and it just sounds so funny to me.
