I am just curious what other kids love on TV. DD, age 11 months, already has favorite TV shows. She has been sick allot this winter so we have allowed a little more than the usual amount of TV watching to keep her happy when she didn't feel well enough to play. These are her favorites and some I them surprise me. She doesn't yet watch movies although we are thinking about watching Finding Nemo with her this weekend.

Arthur - I know she is really too young for this show, but dd loves the theme song.

Sesame Street (especially Elmo's World) and Play With Me Sesame Street

Teletubbies (I don't care for this show but she loves it!!!)

Barney (Same as Teletubbies)

Oswald (This is my favorite!)

Clifford (My second favorite)

Blue's Clues

Oobie (My LEAST favorite)

Jay Jay the Airplane

What do your young kids like on TV or on VHS/DVD?

My dd's (2 & 5) pretty mucy like all the one's you listed, although dd5 is getting a little old for some of them. Her favorite is CyberChase on PBS. She's actually learning things like set theory from it!

My dd2 LOVES the Wiggles. We don't have the Disney Channel anymore so she has to settle for videos. She also loves these Christian videos featuring "Miss PattyCake". She is incredibly annoying to me, but dd is learning lots of good Bible lessons!

My son loves Jay Jay the Jet Plane first and for-most, then he also likes Sesame Street, Calliou, Wiggles, Jo-Jo's Circus, Clifford and Mr. Rogers.

He also loves to watch Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and The Wizard of Oz.

He really does learn alot of good things from these shows, though I don't like him sitting in front of a tv all the time.

p.s. why would your opinion offend anyone? :)

My 19 month old daughter absolutely loves The Wiggles. She also enjoys Bear in the Big Blue House, House of Mouse (she loves Mickey) and Sesame Street, esp. Elmo, Cookie Monster and Grover. She also loves Finding Nemo, it is the only movie that holds her attention for long.

Our DD (almost 4 1/2) loves a lot of the Playhouse Disney Shows (The Wiggles, JoJo's Circus and Stanley are her favorites). She also likes Nick Jr (Little Bill, Blue's Clues and Dora). Surprisingly, she also loves some non-kid shows like 30 Minute Meals, Emeril Live, Trading Spaces and Wheel of Fortune.

MY DS(3) loves-

Thomas the Tank Engine
Bob the Builder
Dora the Explorer
Tweenies
Blues Clues
Pokemon(he has an older sister who's 7)
Anything on PBS kids especially Arthur, Sesame street, Dragon Tales & George Shrinks.
Wiggles
Veggie Tales
Rugrats
Jo Jo's Circus

Similar favorites here. . .add Dora the Explorer and Veggie Tales.

Peggy

DD3 1/2 likes Spongebob, Powerpuff Girls, Max and Ruby, Rubba Dubbers, Dragon Tales, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Chalk Zone, Fairly Odd Parents.

Can you tell there is an older sister in the house? I'm lucky to squeeze in a Sesame Street or Dora anymore!!!

My 17 month old's all time favorite is.....The WIGGLES!! He also loves Bear in the Big Blue House, Out of the Box, Jo Jo's Circus, Dora the Explorer, The Tweenies, Blue's Clues and Scooby Doo.:D

DS is 1 1/2. We don't have TV because we feel it's too much of a distraction. But, I'm not one of those people who feel it's all bad. So we just let DS watch a couple movies a day. At first he just watched Baby Einstien movies, now he loves his Dance Party Wiggles tape and Clifford's Best Friends tape. He also will sit still for Veggie Tales. We have about 10 tapes we rotate so he isn't watching the same thing all the time, although he doesn't mind that. He doesn't like sesame street at all. I think that is something he might grow into. His absolute fave character is Spongebob (even though he won't watch the show). He can spot Spongebob in almost any store and he has a big stuffed pillow. I honestly think it's because he's yellow. That's my fave color too!:teeth:

I totally left out the WIGGLES! DD likes that show and so does Mommy! "Hot Potato, hot potato....."

My 4 year old son likes:

TV -

Scooby Doo
Franklin
Little Bear
Lizzie McGuire
Kim Possible
Clifford

Movies -
Pretty much any Disney movie, Mulan of course is our favorite and any of the Princesses :(

My 2 year olds love the wiggles, bear in the big blue house, sesame, and oobie.
They like Stanley, Olie and Jojo's circus.
Their favorite movie is Lilo and Stitch
Tara

There is a new show on PBS that she would probable like.

Boobah (sp?)

It reminds me of Teletubbies, lots of color, music, movement & kids, but few words.

DD3 and DD4 love Dora the Explorer. I like it too because it gets them involved - they just don't sit there and stare at the tv. They also like our Barney videos, Wheel of Fortune and Trading Spaces. I don't believe my kids have ever sat through a full-length movie. They would rather be playing and I think that's great.

Denae

DD2.5 loves the Wiggles the best. Also:

Between the Lions
Jojos Circus
Kim Possible
The Proud Family (She likes Suga Mama) :o)
American Idol (and anything with music)
Little People videos

On a side note....I don't let her watch Barney cuz I can't take it. :D

I LOVE the Wiggles! You should see me shake my hips with Wags the Dog

My DS's (almost 2) are:

#1): Wiggles
2) Thomas
3) Elmo's World and Sesame Street
4) He's really into Richard Scarry videos right now
5) Bob the Builder - but he only likes the Christmas video and not the short videos - fine with me since its actually a pretty good story with Elton John. But he is obsessed with playing with Bob and loves all things Bob - but he really doesn't watch the videos very often - funny kid.
6) oh and last but not least - the kid suddenly picked up his Baby Einstein tapes that he never liked as a baby and watches them now.

Oh, and he too watches HGTV and TLC - funny how that happens, huh? They are great pacifiers if you haven't tried it yet.

DS 2 1/2 likes:

Bob the builder
Dora the explorer
maisy
oobie
wiggles
dragon tales
clifford

and now he has to watch this boobah every night that is the WEIRDEST thing I have ever seen.

Only movies I have let him watch are Toy Story and Toy Story 2.
