This year I got generic holiday cards. I developed some pics of the kids I am sending in them. BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO WRITE IN THEM! I also do the photo cards so I dont have to worry about this

I always get generic cards.. the kind that you can slip a 4x6 photo into the front of... put a pic of dd's in it.

Depending on what the saying is inside, I usually just write "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" "Love, ... .. ... .. "

Nothing much, but enough to make a bit personalized, lol.

I also just write something along the lines of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Sometimes I vary it, add a few words, but generally that is it.

I also have each person sign their own name because the makes a big difference to me. If your kids are too young to handle that many cards, just have them personally sign ones for your parents or other close friends/family. Obviously if they are too young to write, then scratch that.

If it's someone you don't talk to or see very often, include a personal/hand written note letting them know how things are going. Doesn't need to be a page long story of our lives, just enough to let them know you're thinking of them and not sending them a card on auto pilot ;)

I usually write something like:
"Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year! Love, The Browns.

"Through a frosty winter night,
In a sleigh with reindeer flight
Bringing joy to large and small,
Merry Christmas one and all!"
Warm Winter Wishes,
This is going on our xmas cards this year.

I agree about everyone signing their own name. We do that on all cards, Christmas, birthday, just because, everything.

As far as what to write, I always search some of the online card sites t get ideas from the cards they have. I usually pick a few, maybe change them around a bit. By having a few, I can vary what I write on my cards and taylor them a little to the recipients.

We are Christians, so we will use this saying:
"Take time to celebrate Christ's gift this year."

If you want something more generic you could change it like this:
"Take time to celebrate family and friends this year."

Unless you are sure they don't celebrate Christmas (or whatever you personally celebrate) I don't see any harm in "Merry Christmas.' Unless you personally don't want them to be Christmas cards.
