For those of you that have done the PV zipline excursion, any advice on what to wear? Are shorts ok?

We just returned today. We had a blast on the PV zip line excursion. Shorts are fine. Be sure to bring bug repellent along. you will get hot and sweaty on the hike back up from the end of the excursion. They do not allow cameras. However they have a photographer follow you around and take pictures. You can view the pictures at the end and they will be happy to sell them to you.

Have fun.

I was wondering about this myself, we will be on that excersion on the EB repo cruise. What footware do they wear? My wife wants to wear a pair of TEVA sandels, do you think it would be better to wear sneakers? About the photo's, what are the prices and do they take and sell any video? Thank for the info:banana:

We are all going to wear the quick dry shorts, spf T's and our Keens. They recommend close toed shoes. I originally bought Tevas but mine are not closed toed. The Keens should be perfect.

We did this in 2005 when the Magic went out to LA then.........if it is the same one.....Canopy Tours, I think........shorts are great......BUT......wear clothes that you DO NOT MIND GETTING RUINED!

The "Mexican motorcycles", as our guide called them, give off a fine "spray" of oily gunk. Our faces were covered in brown gunk....and our shirts also had it all over them. That being said.................it was probably the BEST excursion we have ever taken!!!!!!!!!

Have fun and enjoy!

This is a good thing to know....

You are required to wear closed toe shoes. We wore tennis shoes and they worked just fine.

We had no problem with the brown spray described in another post in this thread. We did not get particularly dirty on this excursion. The Rhino jeep excursion in Cabo is a completely different story. :laundy:

Regarding photos. The photo prices are comparable to what you see any time you can buy photos at an event or at a place like Disneyland. However, they do not print photos. If you buy a few photos they are going to email them to you. If you buy lots of photos they are going to send you a CD/DVD with the pictures on them. As an example a family of four can pay $126.00 and receive a CD with every photo taken of your family. In our case that would be between 40 and sixty photos.

I have been going back and forth about zip lining. I am going on the 7night Eastern Caribbean in December. It's not offered as an excursion by Disney, but we were considering doing it through an outside company while in St. Maarten. Anyone ever do it there? I just don't know how it would compare to someplace like.... say Belize or Costa Rica. I've never gone before and I don't know if I should wait for someplace with more of a tropical rainforest. Any thoughts???

Oh.....I can help you on this one too! We just got back from RCCL's Liberty of The Seas. They offer the zip line in St. Maarten. It was great.......but there is more than just zip lines. There are swinging bridges, "monkey ladders" etc........It was like trying out for The Amazing Race! It was LOTS of fun, and our whole family (DH44, myself 43, DS16 and DD13) loved it!

I don't know about the PV terrain that is a part of the zip line excursion there, but on the one that I have done (it was in Maui) there was about 3/4 mile worth of hiking in and amongst the various lines. That's not a huge distance, but it was rocky terrain, so whatever close-toed shoes you wear, be sure they are good to go for "hiking" on uncertain terrain.

Thanks so much tchrmom. That's really all I needed to hear... I'm in! That sounds like a blast. I can't wait!!

Hi, did you do the Los Veranos zipline? Did you happen to notice if you had any observers in your group? I am going as an observer on the EB repo in August and just wonder what I am getting into

Thanks for any info!

For the EB repo, we have booked this excursion on our own, though we are using the same tour company that DCL contracts with, Los Veranos. I called them about a month ago and specifically asked about cameras. They are allowed, but they can't retrieve them if dropped. I believe the "no cameras" rule is DCL's only (just as the age limit is higher through DCL - Los Veranos's age limit is six yrs)
