What to wear for Mexicali night???

What exactly is "Mexican" style clothing? It'd be easy to put together a tropical outfit for Tropicali night on the eastern intinerary, but I'm not quite sure what Mexican style clothing really is! Any ideas? thanks!

Many people on our cruise were dressed more tropical than Mexicali and they looked great. They even pass out leis so you look a little Hawaiin. Wear what you are comfortable in. We got my DH a nice shirt at a store right by the dock. I wore an embroidered top I brought from home.

One word of caution. DH wore shorts to dinner (as did many on our cruise). The wording (no shorts or jeans please) was only under Palo's on our cruise (May 10th). Since then people have reported that the wording is now on the front of the navigator so they are saying you should not wear jeans or shorts. Just wanted you to be prepared.

Tony and Barb's site has navigator's from the July 5, 2003 cruise and you can check there to see that they do indeed now say no shorts.
