What to wear for dinners at signature restaurants?

Just curious to see what people wear when going to the nicer restaurants. The guidelines that Disney gives are pretty basic....it will be myself, husband and 3 kids (who behave well, and will be removed if they do not!)

We went to one last year. DD and I wore dresses with sandals. DH wore a short-sleeve button-up shirt (like a dress shirt) and khakis. DS wore a polo and khakis. DD was 8 and DS was 4 at the time. They both behaved. I'm not sure what happened .. but they did. (Maybe it was the clothes. :rotfl:)

Granted, I prefer to dress for nice dinners. If we're sitting down for a meal, I prefer my family to look nice. :)

The men/boys wear polos and slacks; the women/girls wear capris or slacks or sun dresses.

We prefer to dress a bit for these dinners. Many people do not and Disney does not enforce a dress code. I've seen people in character t-shirts and shorts at almost every signature, I've also seen sweat pants.

As long as you are not in bathing suits, torn/ripped clothing or anything with offensive logos/graphics, you will be seated. Also, no hats on men.

We wear what we normaly wear, I mostly wear dresses or capris and tops, dh and ds are polo shirt and shorts or pants people. The only thing I wear different there is the sneakers on my feet.

I usually wear a pair of dark colored jeans (no rips or holes of anything) and a nice shirt (something nicer than a plain tshirt).

It's extremely business casual. Even a dressier pair of shorts with heels are fine. Wear what you feel comfortable in, just avoid sweats and tees. Make sure to wear or bring comfortable shoes in case you want to go to the parks afterward :goodvibes

We go in Aug so we don't want to wear pants. I wear slightly dressier shorts. My daughter has worn denim skirts or capris. My son wears nicer shorts and a short sleeve polo. Really though as long as it's not a bathing suit or cover up, ripped clothes it's really okay. I've seen people with writing on t-shirts, tattered shorts or jeans that really should have been turned away and they were let in.

I will almost always wear light-colored dress slacks, or perhaps khaki-colored chinos with a polo shirt or, in cooler weather, an Oxford-style shirt. My wife will generally wear a dressier sundress, or perhaps capri pants with a dressy top. Our children love to dress up, so DD6 is almost guaranteed to be in a dress and DS2 will generally be in chinos with a polo shirt. We do tend to be amongst the dressier families, but it's how I feel most comfortable. Clearly WDW wants their guests to feel comfortable, so as long as you adhere to the basic guidelines set forth, you'll be fine and there will almost certainly be people dressed like you, as well as people more and less dressy.

I wear capris and a dressier than in the park type shirt, dh wears khaki's and his leather sandals, ds wears the same and dd usually wears a skirt or capri's. No flip flops for me and dd, usually nicer sandals.

Honestly, the thing I like to make sure of is that for our signature meals, we go back to the resort to shower and change and that we don't usually do much in the way of a park afterwards since we don't wear our most comfy park shoes.

I am amazed at the people who aren't out of the dress code per se, but do arrive all sweaty and rumpled from a day in the parks. For me, I just want to eat a nice meal feeling clean at least!

Warmer weather - will wear matching Hawaiian print outfits -- sun dress for Mom, collar shirts for DH and DS and nice cotton dress pants. Disney store sells matching sets each Spring.... and we got a few sets from ebay sellers.

Colder weather, not so much match... pants and collar shirt... but many people more casual with shorts and polo shirt.
