I don't have an answer - other than in the south Santa doesn't have to wrap -up North he has to 'cause of the snow would ruin the toys...LOL I don't know....

Your answer sounds good. Or it could be that you had written Santa and asked that he not wrap the gifts- not to waste paper LOL!!!

My mother used to tell us that Santa doesn't have time to wrap all the presents and she asked him not to since she didn't like having all that trash We do wrap, that was the one tradition that my DH was not willing to let go, but I sure wish he didn't...

Just wrap the Santa presents? We have always used different wrapping paper for "Santa" presents--always has Santa on it.

Not all shows have wrapped Santa presents either. We just watched the Santa Clause and they don't have wrapped Santa presents there.

If she does ask just tell her Santa asks mom and dad if they want the gifts wrapped or not.

Tell her that for some reason someone in the extended family (pick a relation that seems "exotic" to your DD or has a job that requires travel or just would fit the bill!) is on the "Santa Watch List" and that the TSA examines your packages, so Santa can't wrap yours - the TSA would rip the packaging off!

Sounds good to me. I wish I had adopted the "no wrapping" thing. It would have made my life easier.

The parents decided if santa should wrap, they same way parents can veto certain gift requests, such as a puppy or moonsand!

I never asked until I was an adult how come the Santa gifts were unwrapped.

My mom's answer was "Do you see them wrapped in Santa's sack?" This was back before the Polar Express was a movie though or anything like that.

We had the one where he would throw (is it Rudolph?) the toys down and they used umbrella's like parachutes into the chimney's -- Santa didn't even stop.

We wrap Santa gifts only because we have no other way to hide them until all the kids are up. I would have a couple of them already downstairs seeing the gifts before the other kids were up (or myself were up!!!). When I grew up we had doors to the family room, so the doors stayed shut until everyone woke up.

Us too. I remember when my daughter was around 5 and we went over to her grandparent's house on Christmas. For the first time, they decided not to wrap any of the presents. Although she got a lot of presents, she kept asking if there was anything she could unwrap. She liked the excitement of not knowing what is in the present.

Anyway, we have always wrapped Santa gifts in Santa wrap. It made sense to us. But I think that if you choose not to wrap, you could just say that Santa gives the parents a choice and each family is different. That way if she tries comparing notes with another child, then nothing will be spoiled.

As far as not wrapping - mine were never wrapped as a kid - dh's were - but I drug him to my side! LOL

They still get to unwrap a ton - the grandparents always bring a lot & then cousins & then we usually still wrap gifts up to each other - the kids give wach other 1 gift & so do mom & dad - but that's all opened on Christmas Eve. See we party for 2 days! LOL

Me too! We don't wrap Santa gifts either - and have no plans to start now because of the Polar Express. If our kids ask - the answer is that Santa knows we recycle and try to use less paper, plus he knows that they like coming down in the morning and finding their toys all set up and ready to play with

We put up the baby gate at the top of the stairs once a year, Christmas Eve. We don't wrap.

Same! It was only until reading the Dis that I realized some people DIDN'T wrap their Santa gifts. My parents did one color for me, and one for my brother. My brother's birthday is also on Christmas Day, and it was only this year that my mom and I were talking about how she would wrap his birthday presents in the same paper as the Santa paper! My brother never realized!
