What to serve on Christmas Morning?

Step away from the sausage balls and no one will get hurt!! JK.... just had to tease you a bit!...........P

omg, there's nowhere safe to hide from the BL thread police :rotfl: You got me. This is my one (1) day of anything goes. Dec. 26th it's back to veggie and egg-white omelets, I promise! ::yes::

I googled them when I saw this post. Are they as good as they sound? :yay:

We will be out of town until Christmas Eve. Since you said you freeze them, I might could do them ahead of time. Do you fix them all the way and freeze the finished result? If so, how long does it take them to cook (and what temp) from the frozen state (hate to ask what may be dumb questions, but I am NOT much of a cook!). Thanks! :)

It's my first time making them but the reviews are wonderful. I've read that you let the rolls rise in pan 3/4 way then freeze. To defrost, leave on counter 7 hrs b/c they need to finish rising (I'm doing mine overnight) , then bake like normal.

I rolled out 80 sausage balls tonight, I bought the Jimmy Dean sage & maple and mixed them together. Maple syrup on them does sound goooood....

Just a suggestion for those new to sausage balls -- we found we like them even better when you put maple syrup on them, just like you would a pancake. I know it sounds odd, but it is delicious!

Our Christmas morning menu will consist of sausage balls (pre-made the night before), cinnamon rolls from the bakery, and I'm going to add those hash brown cups, because they sound really good! We also have mimosas, and put our Keurig to work with inidividual cups of whatever people want. I love a chai latte, my dh will be having espresso, my ds will have milk hot chocolate, my dad will go for regular Dunkin' Donuts coffee. We will fill up because we won't eat until much later, our Celtics are starting the NBA season! :shamrock:

Or strawberry jelly or red plum jelly or heck, any kind of jelly! That's the way I've been eating sausage balls for as long as I can remember. :)

Now my mouth is watering!

Since we go to two (!!) Christmas dinners, I try to keep breakfast minimal, but still something special & different. This year I was going to order the ready to bake croissants from Williams-Sonoma (made Oprah's list a few hrs ago)... But found out the Trader Joe's frozen croissants are made by the same baking company, so we will be trying them this year.

Wow, this thread is great! We used to do a big pancake breakfast on Christmas morning, but that became too much of a production so the past couple of years we've just done scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, and fruit salad. I am going to have to try to make those sausage balls that have been mentioned quite a bit on this thread. The baked french toast recipe also sounds yummy :goodvibes

I'm sure it's already been mentioned before, but we make Monkey Bread for Christmas morning. DD gets up and helps me make it while we wait for my parents to come over. I put it in the oven once they get here & we open presents while it cooks. By the time we're done with presents, it's cooked & cooled enough to eat.

I usually get orange juice too. We're not big juice drinkers, even though I love it, so it's something a little bit special.

Perhaps I'll add some bacon this year... because I'm a big pregnant lady & I need my protein. ;)

Haven't read all the posts so not sure this has been mentioned. If breakfast cassarole is not an option then how about a quiche. I buy mine a Sams Club, BJs or Costco and it comes in a box of 40 mini indivual servings. I pop those in the oven and serve a pastry and cut up fruit with it. Very easy to do.

here is a link to what Costco sells.

Here is a link to a recipe of breakfast sausage balls that I have used many times.
