Hi all!

I am looking for some recommendations on what to read next. I have the Official Guide and the UG. Now, I just want to read more - not necessarily about touring, but just about WDW.

Any suggestions?

Thanks :wave2:

Passporter is nice for planning w/pockets, etc. I liked Aronda Parks book & mini-planner - convenient to carry in fanny pack (link on AllEars).

Tons of WDW books, I've got Frommers & Fodors. Didn't care for the Dummies books though.

Art of Walt Disney, Since the World Began & Haunted Mansion by Jason Surrell (a must for HM fans). Haven't read yet, but there's books by the Imagineers out there- hope I get one for Xmas. Good Luck

We have been discussing "Since The World Began / Walt Disney World - The First 25 Years" on another thread. I havent read it but it seems really great.
Disney War also come highly suggested.

I'm reading one of those Imagineers books right now: The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It's cool, and it's pretty cheap. I don't think any other books in this series are out yet, but there are other books about Disney Imagineering.

The Art of Walt Disney: From Mickey Mouse to the Magic Kingdoms is indeed awesome but oh so expensive. If you can't justify the expense at the moment, see if your library has it. Mine does, but the newest edition is in the reference section -- I can only actually check the older edition out of the library. It is discounted at Amazon, though.

I want to read The Walt Disney World Trivia Book: Secrets, History & Fun Facts Behind the Magic although I think the multiple-choice quiz format might annoy me.

I'd also like to read Since the World Began: Walt Disney World The First 25 Years, but I haven't tracked down a copy yet.

Interested in Disney World fiction? I haven't read either of these yet, but Ridley Pearson has a new young adult novel, The Kingdom Keepers, and you can download Cory Doctorow's science fiction novel Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom for free, although it's also available in dead tree form.

I should start a thread sometime about novels which take place in Disney theme parks. (This one is my absolute favourite. Shh, don't tell anyone.)

Another vote for the imagineering field guide to the magic kingdom. It made me realize detail I never knew existed (and I knew a lot before reading).

Oh,Just want to second Hidden Mickeys and the Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom. The Imagineering Field Guide is absolutly terrific! Just a hint about the Hidden Mickeys book - there is a new second edition so don't think you have to buy a used book online because the original edition is posted as out of print. Some unofficial dis sites have the Hidden Mickey book advertised and say it's out of print. You can find the current IN-PRINT edition just about any book store with a good collection of disney books. Another good book - Passporter Special Needs even if you don't have specfic requirements in that area, still useful and never know when the information may come in handy for you or someone you know.
