We are in the process of packing for our upcoming trip. I am not sure what i should make sure that i have in my wallet for example i have kids and am from canada so should i bring their birth certificates and Alberta health care cards?? They are also on hubbies medical through work so i know that i have to take these. Also i know i have to take drivers licence and credit cards and debt cards anything else i missed? we also have out passports ready.
Thanks

I usually forget this one....a little bit of cash! Food from carts, tips for cab drivers, etc. sometimes can't be paid by credit card. By getting cash ahead of time, you can avoid costly ATM fees.

I think you've thought of everything for your journey. :thumbsup2 While you're in the parks, you might want to consider using a smaller wallet. I picked up a thin one just for that, and while in the parks I used it to carry my driver's license, hotel key card, and one credit/debit card, plus a small amount of cash. That's all I really needed, aside from my parkhopper ticket, and I had space to put FastPasses, too. I kept it in the front pocket of my shorts where it was less likely to slip out while rummaging through my fanny pack or messenger bag.

Hello from a fellow Albertan!

I don't bother with the birth certificate since I have my DD's passport. I've never been asked for a birth cert. at the border or anything... passport is all they need.
I don't take AB health cards either (I do take the Blue Cross one) but I do keep the number handy. They won't do us much good in the US anyway.

Oh... and be sure to have photocopies at home of all the documents you choose to bring with you.

Being a paramedic. My suggestion is to put a list of medications that you or anyone in your party takes. In the event that there's an emergency. Also insurance cards and any form of ID.

Definitely a list of medications. I take two pills a day so they are at home or in the hotel and not on my so if I was to go to the hospital all I would know is 25 mg of thyroid and a pretty baby blue cholesterol pill that says no grapefruit.

Also a number that can be reached such as mother, pastor, or friend. If you are an organ donor make sure that info is up to date. Have the business card of your hotel in your wallet as that is an important thing to have.

One thing I started carrying that gives me peace of mind is a half-sheet of paper folded up. It has recent headshots of my four kids, plus their full names, birthdates, height and weight. I know if one of them ever got lost, I would be panicky and forget most of this stuff or spend time trying to find a good photo on the digicam. I made one for DH also before our last trip.

I take just about everything out of my wallet except my drivers' license, one creidt card, insurance card, and cash for the day.

We also made a little card for DS to keep in his pocket to show a CM if he got lost. It has our cell #s, address etc...
