***The Official AKV Owners And Lovers Thread***. Come And Chat

The GV looks amazing! I love that it has a pool table! I hope to stay in that room someday
The GV can be a little bit of a hike to the lobby/pool/etc. We were in room 5483. Probably the worst Savanna view GV. The balcony off the main br had an okish savanna view. The other 2 overlooked the pool and flamingos. However it was extremely close to all amenities, which more than made up for the view. We had banked points and borrowed a few and had 5 nights in this palace! Really cannot describe how Grand this Grand Villa was. Granted it is also the only GV we have ever stayed in. We will definitely do it again. In fact it has made me want to add on points just so we can repeat more often!

Of the 6 Jambo GVs I was hoping for the GV you got for my stay in Oct., I figured its convenient location would suit our group best. That said, the views from the one we got over on Kudu trail were great, the kids loved watching the animals - especially our Sunset savanna giraffes. The longer trek wasn’t an issue, especially after we discovered that we could see the nesting African Crown Cranes’ from the windows by the Kudu elevator & started racing to see if the Cranes were changing who was sitting on the eggs or if the eggs had hatched every time we left or returned to our villa :).

I agree, just a few more points for GV stays would be lovely - that way I could try them all out 😂.

One advantage of Kidani is for Refillable mug users. The refillable mug location is off the lobby, being more convenient than at Jambo.

I prefer Kidani for the parking (under the building, close to the elevator for our section of the building) and the bathroom situation in the 1BR (Kidani has an en-suite primary bath with tub and separate shower, plus a second full bath, while Jambo has only a single bathroom, across a hallway from the bedroom, with only a tub/shower that’s very difficult for me to climb onto and out of). If you don’t have a car and only stay in studios, neither of those will matter to you!

Some of the cache and passion around d the CL rooms might go back to pre-covid when the CL rooms allowed you to buy 3 extra fastpasses for $50 per person. That was a huge selling point for me at the time to make park days more enjoyable. Sadly, that perk is gone. I’d love it as an option if offered again today. Something beyond LLMP but not quite LLPP.
