What To Pack in Backpack in July?

I don't take a poncho every day but my bag in July usually has a case for my sunglasses, snacks, backups masks and a water bottle. It used to contain a cell charging pack but it sets off the walk through security scanner and it's more of a PIA than it's worth.

We were there in July 2019.
We found bottled water to be the single best thing to have. Yes, you can get it at QS locations, but sometimes we wanted to maximize park time and not wait in line for water.
Also, sunscreen, hair ties, extra ziplock bags, ponchos, lip balm, extra battery pack and chargers for phones, hand sanitizer, headache medicine, bandaids, and wallet.

Honestly, I would tell them all to wear cargo shorts or shorts with pockets and forego any bag at all. They're kids. They won't want to carry band aids and medications (unless one of them are on med of course). Anything else will fit in pockets. Teen boys just aren't about cooling towels and fans and the like.

Mine only carry phone chargers. My middle son carries a string bag. I asked him what he had in that bag and he said necessities. Turned out, it was a pack of crackers...

But really, none of us carry anything but extra phone chargers (and that pack of crackers) especially not the boys.

I watched a couple of YouTube videos of recent days at the parks yesterday and really saw few younger people with any sort of bags or carrying anything-maybe a few young ladies with small cross body purses, but that was it.

My bag:
  • Water bottle
  • Phone Charger
  • Travel size sunscreen/moisturizer combo
  • Chapstick
  • Extra masks
  • Phone and wallet
I wear moisture wicking shirts or undershirts and embrace the rain. Neck fan and cooling towels aren't necessary unless you really don't handle the heat well. Staying well hydrated will help more than any fan. I'll put on deodorant, body glide, and bug spray before entering the park but leave it in the car or room. The travel size is for face or neck touchups.

If it's a short day or I'm just going in the evening, I'll only bring phone and wallet.

I will be there in a weekend in July as well wanted to go earlier but waited to long to book trip. My previous trips to Disney have been in June and late August/ early September. I am from Virginia so the Florida heat is on a different level HA HA. But I plan to just wear a hat, sunglasses, phone, wallet, and maybe a light weight backpack for waters (ask food places for a cup of ice).

Is this a one day thing? If yes, for 18 year old boys, I’d suggest cargo shorts for extra masks, their wallet with excess items removed, and their phone with at least a wall outlet charger or a back up charger. And a bit lecture on sunscreen in the morning before they take off to the park.

If this is a multi day trip, then maybe a light weight string backpack for each of them for disposable rain ponchos, extra masks, travel size tube of sunscreen, travel hand sanitizer, and a phone back up charger.

In both scenarios, they need to be taught how to access first aid to clean up any cuts in the park and asked if they want to carry a reusable water bottle or not. Some guys that age are all about reusable water bottles and will carry one all day. Others are simply going to buy a cold drink each time they want one. And well, enough money to eat and drink as they want during the day.

HI! It's group of 2 boys and 3 girls - they're there for 4 days total. One backpack amongst the group - they'll take turns carrying it :-)
