Anyone been this time of year? ( Feb. 26 - Mar. 5 ) I'm not sure if I should pack shorts, pants or both. Any suggestions??

My family and I went March 1 - March 6 last year. It was much warmer than I expected it to be. My sons (ages 2 and 5) wore jeans only at night - and some nights they stayed in shorts until bedtime! We were able to swim every day, and even swam up until 11:00 PM one night. I had been in early February before - and remembered it to be cool (too cool for water parks). I thought the weather in early March was great!

Hope this helps!!

BOTH
we went third week in Feb in 2000 and wore shorts everyday
it was great
so in 2002 we went 2nd week of march and packed no warm clothes
we were OK most days but the day we went to AK was SO rainy and cold we all bought sweatshirts in the park OUCH That was alot of $$$$
so i say pack for warm but bring a few things in case the weather turns chilly

I would (and did) pack everything from bathing suits and shorts to polar fleece jackets and gloves! And we used it all last week of Feb. '04.

We had one day in the 80's (went to BB that day), several around 70 and a couple of wet, windy days in the 50's! It can get cold at night in Feb.

Good luck.

Plan for sun and bring jackets just in case. :sunny: We will be heading down the exact same time. We went last year and most days were in shorts but one day FROZE at Epcot. Our pictures are a riot. We have water park pictures and pictures of us at Epcot wearing every article of clothing we had! Shirt, sweater and jacket!
I plan on taking one sweater/sweatshirt per kid, plus the one they wear down on the plane. We stay at a timeshare so we do laundry too which helps.
Hubby never wore shorts while we were down there, but did wear short sleeved shirts. He needs it to be 100 before he wears shorts.
We will be there Feb 23-March 6. Plus anything is better than this freezing weather we have in Canada right now!

If you're flying and want to minimize luggage space, find articles that layer together and that any one article is not overly thick. There should be some good sales on for outerwear right now, so pick up some and then enjoy next winter! A tshirt under a long sleeve thin-sulate garment with a lined jacket should get you through the cooler temps. And remember a hat--most of your body heat escapes that way and it's a very space-efficient thing to pack. Throw in a few with logos from your sport teams, local businesses, etc. We once had someone recognize my DH's cattle logo from his hat and they had a nice chat--both thousands of miles from home :cool1: :cool1:

We're headed down at the same time - thanks for posting the thread so I know what to pack.

I think I'm going to go check out the winter clearance sales at the disney store and get the kids a Disney sweatshirt for the trip. Much cheaper than buying them at the parks.

We went to The Disney store earlier today & found Princess sweatshirts on sale for $3.99 :cheer2: Even if it's a little cooler its better than the foot of snow & 7 degree temps here in MI!! :sunny:

I'm going down there at the same time too! Thanks for starting this thread. Now I have some idea of what to pack.

Another vote for a little bit of everything. Most of the time it is nice (mid 70's to mid 80's) but if a cold front comes in it can be a bit chilly.

BTW, we are going the same time! (Feb 25 to March 4th)

Staying at BVC, SAB here we come. A few years ago we were at BCV the same time of year and we played at SAB until 9:00 at night and was perfectly comfortable.

I can't wait. I am so excited I just have to add the dancing banana guy! :earseek: :sunny: :teeth:

Late February USUALLY makes more of a difference then early February but the temp can really range if a cold snap hits the area. We've had anywhere from 87 :sunny: to 40's Bbbbbrrrrr :cold:. It usually averages low to mid 70's. We do wear shorts but I always be sure to pack at least one pair of long pants, a hoodie or two and maybe a light jacket or sweater as some of the evenings can get a little nippy. It's a great time to go as there is usually very little rain also but we always pack our ponchos also just in case :umbrella:

Hello from another February 26 - March 5 vacationer!!!!

I'm bringing a sweatshirt, heavy windbreaker, pair of jeans or pants, and then a few shorts and short sleeved shirts. We can wash clothes if necessary.

Think I'll add a few of those dancin' bananas too since we've got less than a month to go!!

Count us in -- Feb 26-March 8. Our third trip in a row at this time of year. I agree with what everyone had posted. It doesn't hurt to check the weather forecast before you go, in case an unusual cold snap or heat wave is coming, but mornings often require sweatshirts and maybe windbreakers on top (with shorts, sneakers, and socks), but by afternoon usually they are down to shorts and t-shirt, and then at night the longer layers go back on.

As for rain, I would bring iian gear for any time of year in Florida, although laet Feb/March is not nearly as wet as high summer.

Count us in too!

Whatever you're packing, be careful of the evening shows and parades. We were there in early December (wonderful cool weather), but as it turned just a tad nippy, Disney wheeled out the carts selling $30 fleece blankets (ouch!) and $8 hot chocolates in a flashing light mug ("Dad, I just have to have one!!!!") (double ouch!!)

I feel compelled to add again.... FLEECE! We have used it both times we went in Feb. (once early, once late). We have thinner pull over fleece tops that really make a difference when layering. Also, knit gloves and a hat or ear band are great especially for Fantasmic (that water spray is cool). We saw tons of people in black knit hats and gloves one day and thought they were part of a tour group until we realized that was the cold weather gear that Disney rolled out for the day!

:sunny:
