Every time we take a trip to Disney, we make reservations at a restaurant that we haven't been to before. This year we are going to Chefs de France. I'm really excited about it but I don't know what to order. Any suggestions?

At lunch I got the Mahi Mahi sandwich and at dinner I had the Chicken. I really enjoyed both of my meals there.

I loved the french onion soup and profiteroles (dessert). I liked the mac n cheese, but the rest of my family loved it.

This is actually one of my favorite restaurants for lunch! They have a priced fixed menu option, below. Love the onion soup, mac and cheese or grilled ham and cheese sandwhich and creme brulee. YUM!!

Prix Fixe 3 Courses Menu
$20.00
No substitutions

Soupe a l' oignon gratinee - Onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese
OR
Bisque de Homard - lobster bisque $6.25
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Croque monsieur et sa salade verte - classic French toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a green salad
OR
Quiche Lorraine - ham and cheese quiche
OR
Gratin de Macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creme brulee - vanilla creme brulee and a madeleine
OR
Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

We had lunch there in January. The French Onion soup is excellent, no strong bouillon taste. I had the prix fixe lunch with the soup, Croque Monsieur, and profiteroles for dessert. DBF had the Mahi Mahi sandwich and frites. We were both very happy. We also had dinner there a few year ago. I had the short ribs (good, but not exceptional) and DH had the shrimp (excellent).

As PPs have said the French Onion soup is excellent! IMHO the short ribs are the best dish on the menu. They have such great flavor. They cook them in cabernet and the meat – no knife required. It’s done with a side of fettuccine in the same sauce as the ribs. Bon appetit.

Oh, and for desert the profiteroles are fantastic. Can’t go wrong with the crème brulee either.

As I just posted in another thread, I love the salade au bleu (salad with blue cheese and walnuts) and the filet mignon with au gratin potatoes & baby green beans, finished with the profiteroles au chocolat (cream puffs with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.)

My favorites is the French Onion soup, the braised shortribs, and the profiterole. Luckily all three are on both the lunch and dinner menu (though the braised shortribs are only on the dinner prix fixe menu).

The chocolate cake was also pretty good (I liked the profiteroles better). My Dad had the beef tenderloin with peppercorn sauce and sorbets and liked both of those.

I love the Mac and Cheese. It is not Mac n cheese that you are used to.It is very creamy gryuere cheese witha hint of nutmeg in it..YUMMY

well the french onion soup is a must try!! i don't even like onions and i love this!!

i actually really liked the burger and fries here for lunch, lol. i know there are many other adventurous items on the menu... but this is pretty good!!

i'm a big fan of the chocolate cake!

DH loved the salmon fillet and I usually get the beef tenderloin...fork tender...yum! I really just love that place. It's a bit noisy, but most of the ts restaurants at the parks are. You'll enjoy it I'm sure.

Their vegetable "lasagna" is very good. Tastes very much like a ratatouille. The best thing they serve is probably their Quiche Lorraine. Very creamy, and delicious! Best one I have every had.

My DH absolutely loved the short ribs last time we were there and insisted we eat here again on our next trip. (he never suggest anything, he just goes were I make a reservation)

I had the Quiche Lorraine and it was great!

We did the lunch and loved the ham and cheese sandwich, french onion soup and the quiche was the best I have ever had. The small salad was a nice touch. Creme brulee was kind of plain but very large, choclate cake was a huge hit with kids.

This was our worst meal at Disney by a long shot. We had a party of 4. Two filets, one duck and one salmon...the filets were bland, the duck was cooked in the microwave and the salmon was just ok. We went here expecting it would be great and it was a let down of epic proportions. We have never had a meal at Disney like that before even as a lunch counter service the food is fresher than here

Has anyone tried the lobster bisque? How was it? We are eating there next Monday for lunch, and I am sure dh will want to try it.

We usually get the Assiette Campagnarde or a flat bread for appetizers, the short ribs, steak, or duck for an entree, and chocolate cake for dessert. Once I got a rhubarb/strawberry dessert thingy that was soooo good, but I haven't seen it on the menu the last few times we've been in there. The only things I've ever ordered that I didn't like was the salmon and the cheese plate. The salmon was really dry and overcooked and the cheese plate I just wasn't impressed with the variety, plus it was the smallest cheese plate I've ever gotten on property.:rotfl:
