Did anyone else read that on the refurb Soarin' ride they are redoing the fly over scene of Disneyland? That should be interesting.
It's one of the suites at the Disneyland Hotel. Is the fairy tale suit the one in the castle?
I hate to outsource the news, but according to Micechat
"TDA’s marketing team is now proposing to host a 60 Hour Party in early 2015 to begin Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary. Both parks would open on a Friday morning and continue to operate for 60 hours straight all weekend long. And regardless of how many people complain about the latest price increase, you can bet both Anaheim parks will be packed that weekend and likely break attendance records once again. Start looking for your parking space now."

Boy, you sure know how to celebrate, padstack1978!! I had the unbelievable fortune of spending 2 nights in the Fairytale Suite, a couple of years ago, and it was amazing!! Don't plan too many activities because you'll never want to leave the room! It was the most magical experience ever!! If you really want to make your wife feel special, get her a tiara to wear while she's there. She'll feel like a princess!Hopefully there's something really cool on the day of the actual anniversary. I booked my wife and I a trip for a few nights including the actual night of and the night after in the fairytale suite. We took our kids for 5 days last year (been several times to WDW, but my first to DLR) and had a great time. This trip will be more for checking out all the stuff for the anniversary, tours, etc. and probably riding small world 100 times as it's my wife's favorite and it was closed for refurb when we went last time.
I thought I read somewhere that the Disney World Soarin' was being redone to be more international and the ending scene would be in the Magic Kingdom. I do not remember them saying they were redoing the Disneyland version. I wish they would the film is so old and has dust/dirt spots on it which is distracting.
Soarin at DCA is currently under refurb supposedly to fix the deterioration of the experience and put in new, more advanced projectors. The rumor has been that a new international experience will come - probably the same one rumored for Epcot - and that one theater at DCA will show it and the other will show the legacy California version.

Thanks Hydro. I appreciate the response, and look forward to lots more interaction with this community. This link is from May 2014 and does not reflect anything current I have heard about the 60th anniversary. There has been some discussion about a 24 our event but I do not think anything has been announced.
I see this was your first post so please do not be discouraged from making more posts. Welcome to DIS!
There is no Soarin at "DLP" which sometimes is used to refer to "DL park" when not used to mean DL Paris.Oh, cool, thanks. Do you know when the DLP one will open?
Is this the 24 hour event announcement that we've all been waiting for? http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/ca/24-hour-event/
