My 10 year old son has decided He dosen't want to use a lanyard this time for his pins. Does any one have any ideas or do you do something dofferent with yours?

Thanks

My DD-10, will put some pins on her hat. I'll put some on my backpack that I always carry around with us. I only put the pins that we are trading out, the keepers we keep in the room or in a ziploc bag.
We love trading pins.

My DS(11) will keep a fanny pack (he usually wears this as a "messanger bag" not around his fanny) were he keeps his traders handy in the very front pocket (his fanny pack has multiple pockets). He only keeps his trading pins there. When he trades for a "keeper", it gets handed to me and I keep it in my fanny pack/backpack until we get back to the room. Back in the room, it goes into a plastic school box that we keep the pins in for traveling (that way they don't get damaged in my backpack on the flight!).

We love pin trading!

My DD sometimes wears a vest that we put the pins on. Other times, the lanyard lives in Mom's backpack :smooth:

My DS also loves the pins on the lanyards, but gets tired of wearing it. So it ends up in my small backpack; not a big deal. Keepers are kept in my backpack in a zip lock (both his and DD's). DD keeps other pins on her small backpack. We love pintrading.

I decided when I started pin trading two years ago that I didn't like wearing the lanyard either. My friend bought me a lanyard with a ticket holder but she needed to borrow it so I ended up with her big Sorcerer Mickey medallion. After a few hours my neck was sore. On my last trip I left the lanyard at home and just bought 2 pins and put them on my backpack. I want to get some locking backs though because I am afraid they will fall off. I don't trade them though. My original collection is displayed at home in my office. My DD had a WDW lanyard and I found her one at Claire's with Tink on it that is a much softer material and easier on the neck. She uses that. Maybe if your son carries a backpack he could put a few pins on the outside with locking backs and carry the rest inside the bag. Nike makes a pretty small "manly" backpack.

I bought the neatest thing on Ebay last spring. It was apparently part of the big pin trading event they do annually at Disney. It's a small (5x7) version of a classic pin trading book. It was tough to get the pins in/out of the sleeves...so I ended up cutting them on one edge.

Hmmm, this is hard to describe. Picture a small photo album. The kind you slide your pictures into. Only instead of clear plastic...it's a thicker black material. if you slipped your hand into the section the photo would go into...you could pin pins on either side. follow me?? But it was hard to slip the hand in. So I cut the bottom edge of each page...and it works GREAT!!! The kids love carrying these. They can see their keepers from the trip on the back pages...and the ones they want to trade on the front.

Each page holds about 8 pins (or more if small) and there are 4 double sided pages so I guess it holds ~64 pins!! It really is THE best thing I've ever seen for holding pins in the parks!!!! (Once I made the incisions!!!!) :goodvibes

At home, ds has his pins on cork board covered in fabric. dd has some of her favorites on a shirt...but most of her REAL favorites she keeps in this little book she can easily show to friends and take w/ her.

I'm a backpack gal, so I carry lots of traders there. My DH loads up his extra pockets in his cargo shorts; not so much that his shorts fall down, but enough for plenty of traders. Neither of us is fond of lanyards...

When my youngest DS was about that age I bought him a very inexpensive khaki "fishing" vest from LLBean. He was able to display all of his pins for trading and was comfortable. He was stopped often by CM's and others who admired his vest and asked to look at his pins. It was his first experience with pin trading and the attention he got really got him hooked. I hope your son has a good time pin trading.

My sons 8 and 10 started out with the lanyards, but kept losing pins off of them. We ended up keeping the lanyard in the room with the pins that they wanted to keep on them and put the pins to trade in a ziplock in their pockets. It worked well for us.

My DH uses a lanyard and a straw hat. DD uses a lanyard but I end up with it in the backpack.
