What to do with personal belongings on rides?

This may be a stupid question, but for any rides where you cannot bring any personal belongings (like a purse/bag), is there somewhere (safe) you can leave them while getting on the ride, or do you need to go back and forth to a locker every time? If you have a big group I guess someone can hold things for you but if there are only 2 of you it poses a problem - last time we skipped certain rides like the Rock n Roller Coaster just because of this issue.

why should it be a stupid question ? please tell me

i think its an interesting one, i'm keen on the answer , too

I took a small backpack/daypack type thing - we took it right on the rides with us. Just placed it under our feet and wrapped a strap around the leg and hold on! No problems! :flower:

For rides like Rock n Roller Coaster all I do is stick my backpack between my legs with one leg wrapped in the strap and im good to go ive never had a problem or if you have a small bag like a purse or soemthing i would stick it behind my back since you are pressed up against the seat for most of the ride it should be fine there...

DH has always taken a regular sized backpack on every ride! He just stows it behind his legs.

I ditto what the previous posters mentioned. Backpacks or daypacks are a must if you really want to ride the faster attractions. I found some Kipling waistpacks on sale recently which aren't at all bulky and can hold the necessities and a 16 oz bottle of water, as well. :flower:

Yeah, I don't recall any rides that you are not allowed to bring your things on with you. When I went in January 04 I had my huge JanSport backpack, and never had a problem. I did similar things to what others have said here, the only place it was a problem was Kali River Rapids, because the thing in the center isn't small enough, but I didn't worry, my back pack is waterproof.

Ok, this is probably not the best thing to do, and I am sure that others will disagree with me. However, I have left DD's Dutchess stuffed animal (she insisted on carrying it around), and a backpack with the CM before while on a ride. We did this several times actually, and never had a problem. I know that CM's have a lot to do, and cannot monitor your belongings very closely, but nothing ever got stolen or misplaced.

That's exactly what we do, we just have a bigger backpack, and it's still not a problem.

What do you do with a backpack on the west rides like Splash Mountain or the River Rapids? (I forget the actual ride name, sorry, I am a newbie and this is only my second post):hourglass (only 8 days til my trip to the World!)

Hi...If you have someone with you who isn't going on the rides give them all of your things to hold. With back packs put you leg through one or two of the straps, a pocket book you can leave on your arm, or you can give your things to a CM to watch. I've been to disney 11 times and these are the options we always use. Nothing has every gotten lost, stolen, or ruined. :flower:

Splash Mountain, just take it with you.

Kali River Rapids - in the middle of the ride vehicle there's a storage container that'll fit a large backpack easy. It has a cover so it won't get wet.

If it's a small bag/purse, carry around a 2.5 gallon ziploc bag and just put your purse in the ziploc bag, that way it won't get wet.

make sure you get a back pack with a strudy strap something that wont break in the middle of the ride. :confused3 :sad2:

I had no issues with a purse/fanny pack, but I knew they would NEVER allow a backpack so we just rented a locker. Anything that was too bulky to carry(usually the fanny packs included) we just stuck them in the locker and then we'd take a break, go back, get some water, sit in the shade, and relax a bit. I know lockers seem a bit inconvenient for some people, but we found they really are a great value!! It is also nice to be able to buy stuff, put it in the locker (those lockers hold a GENEROUS amount of stuff too!), and then not have to worry about it being shipped back to the resort. We didn't have to wait for our stuff, and we knew it was safe, not likely to get wet, and best of all, we knew it was easily accessible and we didn't have to CARRY it!! Wohoo! LoL

Thank you so much to all of you for your suggestions. It is so great to have so much advice available at your fingertips.
Thanks again!
